Anybody know if Schmidt is pitching for Catholic on Wednesday?

Neville beats West Monroe 5-4 tonight.

WM can’t overcome 3 errors, 2HBP, God knows how many walks. Neville walks it off 5-4. Game moved to ULM. Kept roughly 6-7 home runs in the park vs Embanato which is basically a men’s softball field. Neville pitcher goes the distance with a great effort. Neville should try to play all their games at ULM.
I’m not sure when the time frame started on the record the Neville announcers mentioned, but Neville had not beaten WM since 2015 and were 3-19 in the previous 22 games. Carr got the start for WM and went 3 1/3 giving up 4. Gilbert 2 2/3 gave up 0. Trey Hawsey takes the loss coming in the 7th and giving up a HBP, Walk, FC, Single.

Seems like Neville is playing some good baseball as of late.

They eliminated OCS last Thursday and had a good win vs West Monroe last night. They started 0-3 and lost all 3 games by 1 run.

Grant plays them Thursday and Saturday. Ought to be interesting

Does Grant have some decent arms?

I'm not sure how to read high school baseball and how to interpret wins/losses. You see teams losing that aren't supposed to, but they're also throwing mid relief guys and not any of their top 3-4 starters. So is it kind of like a midweek game for college? Did the other team see the chance for a huge power points win, so they throw their ace? It's all so tough to understand honestly. Conversely, will their be a low seed that rides a dominant guy several rounds in the playoffs? The semifinals and finals are still winner take all, one game.

Wins and losses don't mean everything.
Some teams are scheduling up and have a losing record for it.
Others are scheduling middle school cupcake teams and stacking wins. Any team with a pulse will beat these teams.

when do the semi finals become 3 game series?
Posted on 3/19/24 at 11:58 am to lsu777
When Barbe loses. That's the only time change takes place. The first round didn't change until Barbe lost.

A couple. It’s a shame stallings hasn’t developed these kids more. He really isn’t coaching material

That’s why the playoffs are no longer one game each round… our last semifinal run in 2005 was with a kid who won three games, Thursday, Tuesday, Saturday, the last two 1-0…
But yeah the power point system doesn’t know who you throw…

Next year. All rounds, including semis and finals, become three game series.

This only works if you make state just the finals right?
Posted on 3/19/24 at 1:01 pm to JJ27
Right. Finals Series will be at the neutral site.

Isn’t this Stallings 2nd season coaching period, probably still plenty to learn. But learns be realistic, Grant made the quarters 2 years ago with a good senior class in 3A, now they are in 4A without near the talent. Tall mountain for anyone to climb.
