These women saying this truly believe that money grows on trees. They don’t understand finance or how the real world works.

If they received 50% of the WNBA’s total revenue there would be no WNBA. Not even the NBA (who is paying all their bills) could justify that amount of loss each and every year.

There was a statistic that showed if the WNBA shared the money AFTER expenses with the players at 50%, then each player would be handed a bill for $87,000. They would owe money in order to play.

They are extremely smart to ask for this. It worked for women’s soccer, they have complete momentum on their side currently

Use the pressure you can yo maximize your money. It’s the owners fault if they cave, which they likely will to some degree

She’s a minimum top 5 personality in the WNBA… only behind CC and maybe a few other veterans. If she speaks they listen

Nothing

She is only repeating what she is hearing. But this move will actually work and the owners will cave and give them more money

Ok

What does that have to do with her saying she is hearing the union is talking about a lockout?

Ok. So what’s the point of saying, “I need to be in these meetings”

It would be different if it was a no name on the Las Vegas Aces or Connecticut Sun saying it…

Besides Ben Simmons, she's by far and away my least favorite LSU athlete in recent years.

Couple that with the fact you and another poster thinks revenue can be negative and this thread is awesome
Weird dunk.

Why definition the guy to death when you know what he’s trying to discuss?

Nah, you didn’t actually explain what revenue was. I did take your advice and look up the definition. Her comment is still dumb arse hell

Revenue is the amount of money a business earns. It is the top line number. The total an entity brings in. Pride is correct. If it’s revenue sharing it is a win for the players. If it is profit sharing they won’t get a thing.

Because he’s basically become a caricature of himself and turned into the textbook definition of the internet “AcKsHuAlLy” guy.

If someone said “wow that building in New Orleans is really high” he’d run in and argue “wElL aCkShUaLlY iTs nOt tHaT HiGh bEcAuSe iTs wAY uNdEr SeA LeVeL”

No league does this. Why would the WNBA?

The WNBA players make bad arguments. Why are y'all so excited to somehow make worse ones?

And if anyone wants to get into the real nitty gritty, the real problem (that I hope comes out publicly for once) is that the actual revenue of the WNBA (not the money from the NBA, but their TV deals primarily) is actually fugazi. The networks who want the NBA have to pay a "WNBA tax" and overpay for the WNBA in order to get the option of an NBA contract. This overstates the actual market-rate of WNBA success (but while technically being the correctly stated revenue flowing).

It's the same bullshite with the women's USNT, where the American soccer federation makes all contracts for both sexes, which hides how unpopular the women are.
