Sucks that he was in the same era as Federer, else he would have won 5 or 6 wimbledons in addition to his one Major (US Open).

Of course, every Roddick thread needs this...

Have we hit rock bottom in U.S. mens tennis? When Roddick was the only thing to root for the last few years it's pretty bad. Now he's gone.

Ryan fricking Harrison.

ETA I get pissed every time I think about that loss to Federer at Wimbledon, 16-14 in the fifth. Andy deserved that one.

2003 US Open was about it.

Was a top 15 all-time grasscourt player but because of Fed, he never won a Wimbledon.

What's crazy is that Roddick has gotten a good draw.

He can beat Tomic, and from there he has to go through JMDP and Ferrer.

It's a long LONG shot, but the fact that he can get to the semis before facing Djoker/Fed/Murray is big.

ETA: read the draw wrong, he would have to face Djokovic in the quarters. Oh well

He had such an inconsistent career, always rooted for him hard though. I won't ever forget the wimbeldon final with Fed.

Pretty self explanatory really, nevermind that I angled it to the fact that they both play dead in high pressure situations.

Yeah, he battled that day. I've always liked Roddick. Gonna miss watching him. Never seemed like a douche to me at all.
