I think the Pacers figured out last year what it takes to beat Miami, they just came up short in 7. The last two years they have inched closer. Miami really hasn't improved and Indiana has, greatly IMO. Not only have guys like Lance Stephenson and Paul George gotten better, but they are bringing Scola, Evan Turner, CJ Watson off the bench, not even factoring what Bynum could do. They arguably have the best bench to go along with the best starting 5 in basketball. Anyone saying Miami is going to win convincingly is talking out of their arse.

It's amazing how people refuse to see the truth when talking the Heat vs the rest of the East and the potential finals birth. It's "funny" to say the Heat have another gear to the haters but looking at the records it's the damn truth.
Well with that extra gear they still barely squeaked by the Pacers and Spurs last year. So many Lebron fans try to act like their infallible. They just aren't

And Heat/Lebron fans aren't claiming they'll go undefeated in the damn playoffs, settle down people. But it's laughable that everyone gangs up on them and creates their own narrative every flippin year come the second half.
I've done a lot of trolling in the past, but this is only half trolling. The Pacers are very capable of beating Miami in the playoffs, especially if they hang on to home court
quote:
Will they win it all? We'll have to wait and see....but right now, it's childish to not admit they're the best team in the league and have the best chance to win.
Meh, its up for debate. Hard to tell right now because the difference in the conferences is so lopsided.

The only reason the pacers can hang with the heat is BC of d west and hibbert
If Greg oden can get about 20 minutes a game against those guys it will do wonders for the heat

My point is the Heat are at a point now where they aren't pissed at the world and don't need to prove anything each night. They/Lebron are constantly working to figure out exactly what needs to happen and work to be successful in the playoffs. Not that other teams don't do that but it just isn't the same. The Heat don't talk about big games. They don't compare themselves to anyone and don't talk about getting better so they earn the respect they deserve.
Teams have great records against bad competition and get shite on allllllll the time. The Heat are the exact opposite and everyone refuses to acknowledge it. They beat the best. Plain and simple. Yet they've lost a step and Lebron isn't having a "Lebron" year and the Pacers have their number this year. No, just no.
Durant is having a crazy year and is AMAZING. Do any Lebron fans deny this? Probably not. Yet everybody wants to crown Durant and nitpick Lebron and the Heat. Which is fine, but those people are dead wrong.
Yes the Pacers have been getting better and better over the last couple years and hell yes they have a chance to beat this Heat team. Is it criminal to acknowledge fact in sports??? The Heat are better than them at basketball and have a better chance to win that series. Right now, any other opinion is wrong and wishful thinking.

The Heat have won two consecutive championships, with three straight appearances.
It is quite funny how people that dont like the Heat convince themselves and each other that the Heat will not win another onw. What will be the excuse this year if the Heat win another one?

And Scola....and Bynum. They have one of the best front courts in the league to go along with a solid back court. Now they've added a defender in Turner who can come in and spell George and Stephenson to guard Lebron and Wade. It comes down to the best roster vs the best player, IMO. Miami has great role players with experience, I just like the Pacers in a 7 game series. I think they finally break through.

None, but to act like they are a shoe in is a bit ridiculous. Indiana took them to 6 games two years ago and damn near won the series last year. It's tough to beat a team like that 3 straight years.

Who does this? And if they do they're wrong.

You can't really count the series two years ago BC Bosh was out but the pacers definitely have the ability to win the series this year. I don't think they will though. A better Bosh and a healthier Wade > some new backups

a healthier Wade
I like how a lot of people consider this a given. There is still 25+ games left this season and then the playoffs.

And Scola.

Bynum

defender in Turner
These additions do not make the Pacers better than last year. The improvement of George and Stephenson do. There are a lot of arguments you can make in the Pacers favor. None of them, however, involve those players' names.

Lance Stephenson is a name they should be mentioning for that argument

I like how you like to doubt it. Most people that follow the nba have noticed wade has played a limited role and sat out games constantly all year for the sole purpose of him being healthier come the playoffs.
But you keep thinking all that planning and rest and treatment won't make for a healthier wade.

Anyone know of an online book that has bettable nba odds to win the championship right now? I know they are 2:1 in vegas, which is down from 3:1 a few months ago, but I have not seen on onlinebook that has it up.

The Spurs are experts at this and still have injuries. Tony Parker for example made it all the way until the finals before an injury popped up. It is part of the game.

Disregard my question about the books. Just found the ones with the live odds right now.
