I'm laughing at using OBP rather than OPS when the latter literally has OBP built into it.

OPS overweights slugging and underweights OBP, so it's not like it's perfect.

Please explain?

He is a plus defender at the second most valuable defensive position. He has a .298/.403/.506 slash line. He is second in the NL in fWAR. He plays on the best team in the NL if you are into that kind of thing for an MVP. If you prefer Harper, Votto, Posey, Zimmerman, etc. that's not totally unreasonable, but nor is having Seager at 2.

NL SS's are slashing .252/.309/.398. NL 1B's are slashing .275/.358/.516.

Getting Seager's bat at SS is highly valuable to the Dodgers.

I won't argue this. I hate the Yanks but Judge does seem like the real deal.....

Technically Ichiro in 2001 but it's sort of ludicrous to classify him as a rookie when you consider the fact that he was 27 years and a 7x batting champion in Japan. The last real rookie to win MVP and ROY was Fred Lynn with the Red Sox.

Not a comment about your opinion.....just a question brought up by what you said....

If folks say that Ichiro wasn't a true "rookie" because of playing in Japan wouldn't that mean he is the all time "hit king"?

Fwiw, I've always looked at the NPBL as quad-a but with a few major league all star caliber players.
