Alex Rodriguez is one of the best analysts I’ve ever seen.

He’s just so well informed and obviously prepares for this as if it was a baseball game.

I hope he doesn’t ever leave to be a manager because this guy should be breaking down baseball for a long time.

He should honestly be in the booth over Smoltz.

I'm on to this motherfricker.

He's charming as all hell.

And good at what he does. I'll give him that.

But I think he took this job and is as charming as he is because he knows we all hate him and he's trying to change his legacy.

I like the guy. But I'm picking up some vibes that tell me he's being fake AFFFFF.

He is so polished that it feels like he's fake but he's not.

I could listen to him talk baseball all day.

You don't know him.

And I'm not saying he's a bad guy. Not in the slightest.

He just has a real talent to switch gears and play to an audience.

Again, I PROMISE I'm not trying to shite on him. He's a good guy.

But his enthusiasm for what other people are doing....it's forced.

I read an article a few days ago on the Ringer about A Rod's broadcasting career. He really is a huge baseball fan in a way that other players just aren't. He went over to Jeter's apartment in NYC years ago and was shocked that Jeter didn't have the deluxe MLB package. Jeter said he never watched baseball except tape that managers told him to look at. A Rod said he watched games every day for fun and would often watch his own game the next morning

Also, he used to complement the Yankees broadcast team whenever they brought up good points during the live broadcast. The Yankees guys said that they were unaware of another player who had ever watched the games whole (and I totally understand that), much less took notes on the broadcast commentary.

Last year there was a ad lib clip of him and Pete Rose discussing a plate approach. It was the most glorious piece on hitting I’ve ever heard. You could tell they had completely dorgotten about the camera and were being 100%?authentic.

I'm pretty sure there's a video or audio of him talking hitting to a Miami team...YEARS ago. It is too impressive as hell.

He's a rare occurrence of an absolute great being able to perfectly explain how to be great to people who aren't great.

Pete Rose is like Bob Knight, really shitty person but really knows the ins and outs of his sport better than anyone. I saw that segment, it's where he talks about the 4 ways a good hitter should address a slump, right?
