Great player and deserves a huge pay day.
But that Detroit roster is going to be tough to hold together. A lot of great players that will need a lot of money, this makes it harder. That is the NFL though, salary cap keeps the parity (of sorts).

I believe the cap is going up yearly? But yes there's still some guys on that core that still need signing - Gibbs, LaPorta, Branch. Jack Campbell is a really good LB.
They extended ARSB, McNeill, Sewell, Kerby, etc. So a handful of good guys are going to be around.

I’m not disputing what he means to the team on and off the field at all, it’s still an overpay. He’s made one PB and no All-Pro teams yet and is getting more AAV than Micah Parsons who has more personal accolades than he does. Keep in mind, most people agree that Parsons was overpaid as well by $5-10 million AAV.
Having a consistent pass rush is very important but you don’t put all your eggs in one basket for it.

In year two of the contract it will be a bargain. NFL revenues keep going up.

Unless he pulls his finger out the Jameson Williams contract will start to look bad soon.
But as has been said, locking up talent sooner rather than later is always the correct play.

Yes there’s lots of those in the NFL

He definitely is a beast of a player but that large of a contract on your team especially defense means you will have to cut corners on players.
