I'm on my phone and have no idea how to quote posts, so I apolize.

Why do gays have a right to be married? The belief of marriage and what it means doesn't allow it.

Again, I bring up my point on the endgame sought by the gay movement. It's not gay marraige. It is removing the tax exempt status of the church.

Why not have civil unions for gays and any benefits a married couple gets for the gays? Seems reasonable and the easiest solution, no?

It's because the Catholic Church is the ultimate target in this entire shite show.

The question is whether or not you think it's ok to use such vernacular in a clearly derogatory fashion.

so you are one of them who attacks someone for for simply saying they don't believe in something. and 99.9% of the time they are responding to an interview. but the "outspoken party is perfectly fine.

No, but I am fascinated that many here swear their position is not rooted in bigotry yet several posters make clearly bigoted statements and references yet nobody seems to want to clearly state that they don't agree with that position. It's very interesting to me.

The posts of others on here are not my responsibility. I didn't say anything when you resorted to petty insults regarding the south either. If I wanted to break up a squabble between kids, I'd go to my in-laws house.

I honestly don't take derogatory words of any sort black, white, latino, homesexual, etc. seriously. I don't freak out every time someone uses one against me or someone else unless it is an extremely hostile fashion which most instances are clearly not. I guess I just have thicker skin than some

This coming from the guy who called me a bigot yet cannot provide one single example.

Congratulations on your troll thread. Glad more of the board sees you for the absolute joke that you are.

Normally I wouldn't either but when these people swear up and down that it's just a difference of opinion and not rooted in prejudice, then someone makes multiple unmistakably prejudice remarks which are not disavowed by anyone it sort of calls into question that entire tenant of their argument does it not?

Why did this thread go to 23 pages? Can Peterson not have an opinion?

you are just looking for minor reasons to lump everyone into this specific general group you are championing against. most of the people on here agree with your stance but no one is supporting you, I think that should tell you something about your methods

Why shouldn't they be allowed though? If you believe in the separation of church and state (which I do) there is no reasonable reason they shouldn't be able to. I don't believe the pro gay marriage movement is concerned with what the catholic church classifies as marriage in their own church. If you believe that is their ultimate end game then that's fine but I don't and that's not the issue we are discussing. If that were to happen I would be on your side on that issue because only the church should decide the criteria for a valid marriage inside of the church.

I see nothing wrong in what Peterson said here. His statement was pleasant compared to others who have been downright ignorant with their remarks. He simply stated he doesn't believe in gay marriage and that is his right. Anyone knocking the guy for this is just totally wrong and ignorant also.

This entire thread is a catastrophe. I have thoroughly enjoyed it on a lazy Monday.
