Don't you think going back to the SC would perhaps boost his confidence if he made a few 10 footers?
Sure it would. But I don't think just switching putters is going to get him to make some 10 footers under pressure.
Johnny Miller and Nick Faldo made good points on the golf channel last night. They said that Tiger has been working so hard on cutting the ball with his new swing that some of that has started working its way into Tiger's putting stroke. He was leaving the face open this week, so I bought into it. Miller also said he noticed that Tiger's left hand grip was weaker too, so that was probably contributing.
I lol'd yesterday when Tiger said he could fix his putting stroke in 24 hours. If that's the case, what's he been doing for the last 2 years that his putting has sucked?

its amazing to tiger who was once the strongest MENTAL player in the game now struggle so much with that aspect
its not all his stroke, he just doesnt have IT anymore

I agree with a lot of what Nick & Johnny said. I just have trouble understanding how you can go from the greatest clutch putter ever to someone who's ranked in the 160s in putting stats.
A lot of it's mechanics, but a lot is also between the ears.
If he doesn't get it fixed quick, he can stick a fork in his chances of catching Jack.

Which is not even close to correct...

Tiger relied forever on his "fear factor". Now that he no longer has that... He has fallen back into the pack. His putter betrays him constantly and I was able to talk to Sean Foley for about 45 minutes on Wednesday and he was less than enthusiastic that Tiger is putting with the Method. It is clearly time to switch putters but catching Jack is over. As far as DJ goes.... The guy is the antiChrist.! On Tuesday he was sat down on the range by a PGA Tour official and given a stern warning bc he was cursing on the range in front of about 40 kids. About 30 minutes later he was leaving the chipping area and an 8 year old was standing all by himself and reaching out for an autograph.... DJ walked right past... Never even acknowledged the boy. Frick DJ. The kid is a punk

How do you figure? It's widely known that Tiger's new swing is built to influence a cut to keep him more neutral. Have you not seen him practicing going over the top everytime he hits a bad shot?

Foley said that he will go two weeks without hitting anything but a cut. It's to preserve his knee. It's much easier on ur knee to hit a cut than a draw

Right, if anyone wants to point to any one thing that Tiger has issues with, its his health he had what 3 surgeries on his left knee?

Doesn't cause a cut. He's trying to work the club left through impact, which is the opposite of that god awful Haney move. He knows as well as anyone that a cut doesn't win at Augusta

Maybe so. But he's been cutting everything in the 3-4 tourneys he's played this year. He's definitely making a cut swing right now.

Yep, they mention it at least 25 times a round

anyways tomorrows Semi-finals:
Wilson vs. Mahan
Rory vs. Westwood
I'm thinking Mahan and Westwood, Mahan has been putting up a lot of birdies so far. Who you got?
Posted on 2/26/12 at 12:41 am to texastiger38
I like Mahan to win it all. He's playing some excellent golf

one problem strong mental players have is thinking they can master the mechanical game to get even better. Tiger has become way too mechanical...probably going back to when he dumped Butch. He's way to stiff and mechanical putting right now.

Is there a difference between a cut and a power fade?
I know someone that won 6 green jackets hitting a power fade at Augusta.

Kind of ho hum golf. You aren't missing much. Mahan is 2 up on Wilson and Westwood is 1 up on Rory. Lee had a 3 up lead at one time.
