Cincinnati would be a good fit for the ACC imo.

Agreed, but I think Louisville and UConn are better fits. They won't join the ACC unless the ACC decides to go to 16 or gets some surprising rejections.

I have been expecting this for a while. The only question is if others will be invited (Cincy, UConn, and apparently Navy are all being considered).

It would be very interesting if they made the jump to 16 first, though it would make sense since it would seemingly lock up what is currently a very fragile situation. UConn + Louisville are logical targets, but who is the 16th team? Would ND jump fully aboard? Navy is a decent target (I guess) but if they add schools that are perceived to be weak additions it could cause further instability in the conference.

Except for the fact that it has incredibly weak academics by ACC standards, same issue for Louisville.

If they're going 16, then they'd almost certainly grab the three remaining relevant Big East teams: Connecticut, Louisville, Cincinnati. ND won't jump fully aboard since they've already got their special ticket to the marquee football games in the new playoff system. Navy's not really a good fit; Cincinnati would be. Academics are a concern, but hopefully adding UConn would satiate the academics-centric wing of the ACC.

It is expected that UL & UC are kind of a package deal. They have both upgrade non-revenue sports to make themselves more attractive.

U of L & UC are academic equals of Clemson, FSU and VT.
