It still irks me that he thinks judge this season is better than Ruth’s 1921 or even his 1927 seasons.

Your Judge fellatio is enough to make everyone else hate an otherwise likeable player. Please stop.

Alvarez was on fire last night. But the most important factor was Verlander throwing 5 no hit innings.

Actually, 2001 was probably Bonds’ 3rd best season. You could argue 2002, but I think 2004 was his best:

Hit .362(won the batting title), with 45 home runs, 101 RBI, 27 doubles, and tied a career high with 129 runs. Nice season, but probably not one you’d consider one of the GOATS. Until you dig a little deeper and realize he did it in only 373 official ABs. Out of 617 plate appearances. Because that is the year he walked 232 times, 120 being intentional. He struck out just 41 times in case you were wondering. He slashed .362/.609/.812, giving him a nice OPS OF 1.422. OPS+ of 263. Decent.

Psssssssst. Neither is Judge.

Arraez is down to .317 All the BA leaders in the AL not named Judge are somewhat slumping. .320 might be enough to win the BA title in the AL.

The real MVP pitched a gem last night:

quote:

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Shohei Ohtani pitched seven scoreless innings, drove in one run and scored another as the Los Angeles Angels beat Seattle 2-1 Saturday night, dropping the Mariners in the wild-card standings.

quote:

Ohtani reached base twice in three at-bats, drove in his 89th run and lowered his ERA to 2.43 in 148 total innings.

quote:

On the mound, Ohtani (13-8) was barely threatened, allowing one Seattle runner to reach second base. He gave up three hits with one walk and eight strikeouts, his most in three starts this month. Ohtani now has 196 strikeouts on the season.

quote:

"I don't like to self-critique myself in any way," Ohtani said through an interpreter as he is in the midst of an MVP chase. "One thing I could say is, overall, balance-wise, I'm having a better season this year than I had last year."

quote:

"I've said it before: He's the most valuable player of our game right now," said Angels interim manager Phil Nevin, who has a unique view on the MVP chase as a former Yankees coach. "Until somebody can come in and do the things he does on both sides, I don't see it going any other way. I love Aaron Judge like a son, but I'll continue to say it: [Ohtani] can take over a baseball game like nobody can."

To add to his historic season, Judge is about to take the BA lead in the AL. Leader is Boggarts at .317; Judge is at .314. He needs 95 bases to break the all-time TB record, but he needs 50 TB’s to break Barry Bonds’ 411 in 2001.

He gets #59. Again, 70 is not out of the question; teams are going to pitch to him. Furthermore, Judge is going to face mediocre to bad pitching the rest of the year. Both pitches he hit out were poorly located pitches, but he is GOAT against mistakes.

BIG Big

Props to a guy who turns down quarter billion dollars to bet on himself.

How does he deliver? 60+ HR’s, AL record?? Decimal points away from a potential triple crown. Leading the league in WAR, and he’s been phenomenal defensively.

Very impressive. He gambled, but damn he’s backed it up big time and delivered.

Nah, he would fit nicely in Cincinnati, but our FO will still manage to screw it up. He could hit 100 homers for Cincy.

The money trucks will be lined up outside his place when the season ends. What’s stopping a billionaire owner from paying beyond ludicrous money? Mets and Giants are going to make the Yankees regret their offer.

I know Judge is gonna be nice, but how badly does he want to stay in NY? The Yankees are going to give him an offer he cannot refuse. 30M a year is nice, but he knows he is worth more than that, and I think he wants at least nine.
