Whitlock is pretty good but hanging a slider is begging Judge to hit one out. Why he’s gotten 3-4 pitches to hit is beyond me. Again, Judge destroys mediocre to bad pitching. He might get 60 by the end of the week. Judge is working on the GOAT season.

The man is an animal. No one just hits 57 homers in a year without being a beast.

I think they want him to break the record or they have absolutely zero respect for other Yankee hitters. I mean FODB pitched to him in a tie game with runners on second and third, one out. I hope he gets 80 (not gonna happen but you get my point), but teams are dumb. Bonds would have been walked on that last one, for sure.

I mean you cam argue he is having the greatest non-steroid season since Ruth when they started testing seriously in early 2000's

Statistically, Barry Bonds had the GOAT year in 2001 (73 homers in 476 at-bats; Judge has 57 in 509 at-bats), but he wasn't clean. Judge has not been caught cheating like the others have. Also, Judge might win the homerun race by 30 (he's up by 20, and there's a chance that the other guys sit). Trout has 35 in the AL.

This would mean something if not for the fact he had to publicly aknowledge he used banned drugs in federal court

Whether he knew what he was taking or not (he did), the discussion ends there

Frank Thomas had some great seasons in the 90’s

Did he have 57 homers? Did he have a GG quality season while hitting said 57+ homers? Did he drag a bad Yankees team to the playoffs?

Excellent point. So just because a player is never caught, doesn’t mean they don’t take steroids. So good chance Judge is also juiced to the gills

He didn’t have to hit 57 homers. His all around hitting skills were better than Judge. Plus judge is gonna be a one year wonder. Thomas did his thing for many years…

LOL at one-year wonder. He 52 in his rookie season, and is finally healthy. Now, will he stay healthy long-term, who knows?

THE goat season?

No

Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Barry Bonds, and Will Clark laugh at you.

It is simply amazing what Judge is doing. He is first in homers, RBI, runs, and OPS. He is playing defense at a gold glove level. But right now, he is on Maris watch AND triple crown watch.

Arraez is 157/492 for a .319106 BA, and Judge is 161/517 for a .311412 average. We also need to look at total bases, as he is at 355 and the record is 457. Unlikely? Yes, but we still need to watch. He is averaging more than 2.5 bases per game, so he is on pace to end up with 400 total bases. He has 80 XBH as well.

Really is incredible. I didn’t know how far behind the next closest guys were in home runs. It is jaw dropping the season he is having.
