If 12 teams are going to be in the playoff, and likely 16 soon, there simply will be three loss teams in the bracket.

A three loss team could be competing for the national championship provided they look like they belong and have a schedule to back it up. Bama was not a deserving three loss team and neither was Texas although I would say that Texas was better than Bama.
