All coaches teach a strike zone in hitting practice that is usually knees to the belt. Umpires needs to see this. To me, if an umpire stays within those parameters across the plate and remains consistent, coaches will be satisfied as a whole.

Yes yes , the rules state the strike zone can be called from below the letters. Imo, this is totally and utterly complete horse shite. What coach in america who "knows" baseball is teaching a "correct swing" in the instruction/progression in batting stations to swing at a ball this high? Not many.

Terrible take imo. You want strikes to only be what is in pretty much every hitter's sweet spot? That's way too much of an advantage to hitters and disadvantage to pitchers.

Knees to letters is good. No reason to change it. Rewards good hitters who can adjust their swing a little.

And if hitting coaches aren't teaching how to hit above the belt, then that's on them. You may teach to try and wait for knees to belt if that is the hitter's natural sweet spot, but you better also teach technique for hitting above the belt when you have to protect the plate.

So all these swings are "incorrect" because they swung at balls above the belt?

The next change that is coming soon to an MLB stadium near you is the electronic strike zone. The fact that all Triple-A teams have it now and it's working has me excited.

praise god.
good this happened in my lifetime.
