Any 7on7 parents or people of interest????? It seems to be trending with teams in our state. Seems to be a ban on the horizon for non-scholastic or non-sanctioned 7on7. Amazing to see the Bootleggers and Bombsquad pushing it on their feed

7 on 7 has ruined high school football in Texas.

FIFY

I don't get the point of 7 v. 7 if it's not your high school team. In other sports its whole teams playing the actual game, but 7 v. 7 is not actual football. It should be used by coaches to help QB's and WR's work on timing and route trees, and DB's used to covering for longer than a few seconds, not to get noticed. Any decent QB can look like Brady out there with no pressure from lineman and LB's blitzing.

Then again I was just a dumb lineman.

In Louisiana it has given many teams a false sense of security in the summer that they'll be able to throw the ball all over people. Then they get to the regular season and can't pass block worth a shite and the QB looks much more mediocre when he's getting hit in the mouth. I'm looking at you Ellender and H.L. Bourgeois

Not one respectable college coach has ever offered a scholarship to a kid based on 7on7. College coaches want to see actual game footage and talk to high school coaches, not 7on7 "coaches"

That's my point. The thought of travel teams playing 7 v. 7 is stupid, whereas AAU basketball, travel baseball, club soccer, etc. isn't because you are playing the actual sport.

That and because it is really hard for college baseball and basketball coaches to get out and see kids play during the high school season

Isn't it just HS flag football?

There is zero emphasis on a power running game, run blocking offensive linemen, run stopping defensive lineman or line backers. They start 7 on 7 in middle school here and all the best athletes are all moved to the skill positions and all the areas suffer, you end up with some good qb's, wr's, and db's but the quick undersized dl and lb's get pushed all over the field at the next level. There's a reason so many Tx universities run the spread, have terrible defense's, and get their arse's kicked against teams with a power running game.

Maybe but it was fun as hell to partake in during the summer.

Bruh, I lost one 7-on-7 game in three years of varsity football and it was to Temple who had Lache Seastrunk and he was a monster.

We ran the spread and the wing-T, lost in the bi-district round to the team who won state my sophomore year, lost in the state championship my junior year and lost in the regional final my senior year.

We ran the ball more than we threw it every year.

Being good at 7-on-7 doesn't mean your run game has to suffer or that teams can't do it at all. It may be that way for some coaches or teams, but not for the ones who actually compete at a high level.

As a skill position player, 7-on-7 was fun as hell. I also know all the lineman I played with loved the Lineman Challenge shite they took part in during the summer.

Lol Nugget played for a shite school in DFW.

I played for a now 4A, was 3A before they added 6A, school. It’s not like I was a 5* recruit from Highland Park.

I graduated with 150 kids lol.

If I was going to lie I wouldn’t do it about losing.

Trust me Malachi Dupre didn't get to be the #1 WR in the nation because of his high school film.

800+ yards his junior year and 600+ his senior year when he battled injuries. Don't act like he was glorified blocker at Curtis.

bullshite. All coaches believe they can transform a kid that has natural ability, which is what 7 on7 displays. The HS tape may not show all that a kid is capable of. You’re delusional if you believe what you posted.
