It's a small sample since there aren't many guys in the NBA close to 5'11, but I think that Nate Robinson could and probably others. There are thousands of guys in college and high school that can do what the guy in the video is doing. It's not that impressive really. I'd say that he has somewhere around a 36-inch vertical.

being 5'11" with a 36" vertical, the dude wouldn't be able to dunk a 10' goal..that goal is the same they use in the nba, not the adjustable type like your huffy driveway goal..
I don't pretend to know high this guy vertical is, but you don't know what you are talking about.
5'11" with a 36" in vertical would be dunking all day long.
5'11" with a 36 in vert means he would have to extend his arms above his head a mere 13 inches to reach the rim
I am 5'9" with probably alot less that 36 in vert and I can grab a rim with one step, and touch it on vertical

yeah i dont thnk that guy was adding in the guy putting his arms above his head

Michael Jordan did not have anywhere close to a 50" vertical.
I find it very hard to believe that this guy does.

not that that has anything to do with this kids vertical
i bet it is high 30's/low 40's

MJ was reported to have the highest vertical in NBA history with 48

I really doubt that. His measured vertical in college was only 35-37 inches, second on the team to Dave Popson. I'm sure that he can elevate higher but using the standard vertical test, no way that he was over 40. Nor was his the highest in NBA history. Out of the superstar players, that was most likely David Thompson.

id put vince carter up there, too
nba people say he is closer to 6'4 than the 6'6 he's listed at

If that rim is 10' then his vert is obviously at 50. his head is above the rim
6' + 4' is 10' and he's above the rim
6' + 4' is 10' and he's above the rim

The guy can jump, but he doesn't have a 50 inch vertical. The dunks were very impressive though.

..5'11" with the highest point you can touch being 7'7" avg standing still, add a 36" vertical and your at 10'7".. with a 9" nba ball your probably get more rejections then dunks..

quote:This is 100% true. Some of you are having are hard time understanding what a vertical is. If your vertical is 36" then thats how high you jump standing still. With a running start you can jump higher. It's not that difficult to understand.

You're obviously wrong. Did you even play basketball?
And a vertical is usually measured without taking steps. He can (and does) get higher by taking steps, but that's not the same as his vertical.

nah just look at where his feet are when he jumps over his teammate he was way up there

Screenshot from the video. He is definitely in the mid 40s if not higher.

Your just plain silly dude...
First off, I just stood flat foot and touched a 7'8" sloped ceiling in the bathroom, second, your numbers are assuming he is stand still jumping on a vert.
5'11" with a run and 36" vertical easily dunks
