Thomas Brady currently the only QB on the roster

Should have traded Jimmy G for Hoyer and the 2nd.

Hoyer would be booty in this offense. It's a vertical passing offense, not dink and dunk.

@AdamSchefter: And another shoe drops: 49ers are releasing QB Brian Hoyer, per source.

Makes no sense for the Pats whatsoever.

Brady is 40.

How does it not make sense? He’s a free agent at the end of the season and someone is going to make him a sizable contract offer.

Well. They should go with the 25 year old next year instead of the 41 year old.

I'm gonna go ahead and trust the NE front office on this. Just based on their track record and stuff.

The 49ers pick could very well be the first pick in the second round. So they turned the 62nd pick into a top 35 pick.

Yep.

And remember that the Pats were most likely gonna have to franchise tag him in the offseason to keep him in New England for next year. Now they can use that money elsewhere and could sign Butler to a new contract or soemthing.

What don’t you even?

One player is going to retire in the next year or two. One player has another 15 years and has looked very good when playing.

Who cares if it’s Tom Brady? This is a cold business.

Yeah, I'm sure New England is being sentimental about Brady instead of doing what gives them the best chance to win going forward. That totally fits their MO

They are a great franchise but their track record is extremely overrated in personell and draft moves. They’ve made a lot of mistakes.

Still the best franchise in the NFL because they are unbelievably well coached.

Which is what makes it so perplexing that they are going completely against MO here.
