The players are simply bodies. They can be replaced by more bodies and the product goes forward rich as hell

Either set of bodies are not “inconsequential”

This is just another contrarian fetish for you, there’s no way one could be this stupid

You should only want to be on the side of the facts

So what you are saying is you need players to play the games? Thanks

Sure. You just don't have to pay them crazy amounts of money, destroying the rest of your athletic program in the process.

Are you really delusional enough to argue Nebraska’s national brand is the same as it was in their hey day (when they were arguably the biggest brand in the sport)?
Number 10 National brand worth according to Forbes in 2013 when they really fricking sucked

You stupid clown

LINK

Another one from last year in the Wall Street journal has them at 13th most valuable brand

They aren’t. The HUGE share of the best players value is outside of revenue share

You also need a janitor. Their value is shite. The bodies needed for football is perfectly compensated with their 100k plus they were getting in tuition/room/ food etc

They shouldn’t be tied whatsoever with the revenue football makes just like the janitors salary isn’t tied to it. You bring that up shows your depth of knowledge here is an inch

Imagine using something from 2013 as evidence for 2025 in college football

Other than the actual market disagreeing with you, sure

You're funny if you actually believe it isn't all connected.

No, the adults are trying to figure out how to overhaul a system that has remained more or less stable for the last 150 years seemingly over night due to judicial overreach.

What market are you talking about? The economic market for college football is ultimately in TV entertainment value, not on-field player value. The "billion dollar industry" argument is used to imply a massive power imbalance that doesn't exist. With 190,000 D1 athletes, if they generate just $10k each, that's two billion dollars.

In reality, most schools operate at a deficit.

Y'all are confusing rich guys' vanity payments for their ego with the market rate for these players - of which there is none.

There were huge payments under the table for decades. Arguing players have no value is just straight up false, unless you don’t believe in economic theory I guess

I hate being poltical but mingo and his cronies are right out of the socialist/communist lovers when their ideas fail every fricking time

We told him exactly what would happen if he got his way

Now exactly what we said would happen is happening but it’s everyone else’s fault and a bunch of “but but but this isn’t REALLY WHAT I WANTED”

Their value is tied to rich people who are fans and want to win or rich people who want to hold power. Thats their worth.

Their worth isn’t to the actual value of the product

I didn’t get my way. The ncaa and school administrators have acted in bad faith for decades and continued to do so. As are “agents” and other bad actors pretending to be looking out for the athletes.

But idiots like you who are either too stupid or have their head stuck so far up their sad they can’t breathe are the reason the sport has gotten to this point.
