I know I'm late in seeing this, so none of the "Germans" crap...

For those of you from that era, how do you feel his career would have been had he not passed away? They talked about him being as good as Jordan in college, so couple that with the fact that he was drafted by one of the most storied NBA franchise...what are the chances that he would have been considered the goat, as opposed to MJ?

There's no chance he'd even be considered? Did you get to watch him play? Not bashing...just curious to see what your opinion of him is.

never seen him play so my opinion counts for about as much as the chance that hed have been better than MJ. but still.

I'm a huge fan of Bias. He was like Superman when I was a kid, but there's almost no chance he would've been Jordan, just because Jordan was pathologically driven. Bias was more James Worthy - a fantastic player in his own right. OK, maybe better than Worthy, but I think it's more likely he has that career.

Remember, Maryland finished 6th in the ACC the year he was named ACC Player of the Year (though the Terps did win the ACC tourney). I think he would've been a nice contrast to MJ -- think a better version of Barkley. He could've been a star, but 6 titles? Not seeing it.

I bought the box set the other day because I missed many of them when they originally aired. His story was very emotional. The footage of his teammates' reactions when they found out the news put a lump in my throat.

I was only 8 when he passed, so I didn't really know who he was until the 30 for 30 series aired. I still didn't know anything about him because I missed that episode, but I remember reading some discussions on here and it peaked my curiosity.

Good info from you Baloo.

Yeah, I got the first box set last Christmas and the second this. I haven't seen any of them, because they just always came on in inconvenient times.

Have you seen the Allen Iverson one? That is the last one I watched and it is my favorite of all the ones I've watched so far.

My favorite 30 for 30 so far has been "The Two Escobars". I'm not even a soccer fan.

Could have been a solid player, even possibly an occasional all star type of guy, but wouldn't have been like Jordon.

I think the Iverson one is on the third disc. I've got to watch the Jimmy the Greek story tonight and maybe I'll be able to watch the AI story tomorrow

The U, Straight outta L.A., and the one about Marcus Dupree were my favorites.

I haven't seen one of these that didn't have me riveted.

Among my personal faves was the one on Dupree. What a gut punch to see that guy driving a truck, and those scenes with him going through his old house were like something out of Sling Blade.

The "Two Escobars" about narco-soccer in Columbia was also mind blowing.

How do you seriously even attempt to answer this question?

Exactly ! No one that saw MJ in college would have guessed he would become the goat. So, who knows, it's all just personal opinions. He could do it all, JMO, he would of been one of the best players in the NBA, but MJ is one of a kind.
