It played at Sundance (like The Two Escobars did) and got rave reviews.

"Best yet" would be saying something.

He was #1 in the country - Lebron before Lebron was born. Then he was murdered on the streets of Chicago.

I agree. Just saying it has potential. It's got a Hoop Dreams feel to it.

My favorite was The Two Escobars. I'm not even a big soccer fan, I just found that story fascinating because it dealt with so much more than a sport. It sounds like Benji is going to be a lot like that one.

And Pony Excess was entertaining, but I pretty much knew that whole story.

I hate the sad ones.

But I always watch them because the stories are so compelling.

I've been waiting for this one for a long time. His highlights are amazing for a player, especially one at his time. Very sad that he never got to showcase them.

Also, a little thread hijack, but a Kickstarter project was started awhile back for a Ronnie Fields documentary. Well, it easily hit it's mark and then some, and should be coming out sometime soon:

Ronnie was regarded as one of the best dunkers and athletes of his time, playing at the same high school as Kevin Garnett. A car accident left him with a broken neck and detoured his career

Hard to top Once Brothers...that involved a death of a budding NBA star, civil war and genocide.

The saddest moment in the 30 for 30 series for me was: LINK

Same here and I find it hard for another episode to top it, but I have high hopes for this one.

The part that got me was when current-day Marcus was watching his old highlights and you could just tell he wanted to break down

I watched this one once and not again. The part where he talks about his mom & the trailer . . . I think Benji will have a similar affect. It's always difficult to watch the unmet potential of youth no matter what the reason
