Dwain Jenkins, Lutcher's offensive coordinator, is top 5 in the state as far as individual coaches are concerned...you'll see him in either a head coaching role soon, or maybe even at the college level

Dwain Jenkins is a genius among high school coaches. i hope he takes it to the college level one day -- D1

Hahnville, ESJ and Destrehan in recent years have had far superior talent to Lutcher and yet only Destrehan has rivaled Lutchers success on the field. But thats not hard to do with a team that had 4 or 5 guys sign with D1 schools. WSJ is nowhere close to what they used to be. Roussel is a heck of a coach and had done more with less than any coach in the RP for a long time but they havent had success in quite a while. SCC? Uhh no. I think with the recent infusion of youth on the Lutcher staff, led by DJ, that they have the best coaches in the River Parishes. Destrehan, ESJ, Hahnville and WSJ have all had guys sign with SEC schools in the past 5-10 years but Lutcher has just as many titles without any former players on SEC teams.

So you don't think SCC has good coaches?

I'm not trying to throw them up there with Lutcher, Destrehan or Hahnville, but you don't think they are as well coached as Riverside?

edit -- SCC beat Lutcher last season, beat West St John the last 4 years, beat Riverside the last 2 times they've played them ('05 & '06) and split the last 4 games they've played with St James. Not shabby at all.

SCC is well-coached no doubt, but i think Detillier's staff is very legit.

SCC and Lutcher have gone back and forth over the years no doubt but Lutcher wins it counts - the playoffs. The Lutcher game is SCCs superbowl, they always get up to play Lutcher. And the WSJ and Riverside programs are much weaker the last 5 years than what they used to be.

Definitely. I'm not trying to argue that SCC's staff is as good as Lutchers, just that they are not an afterthought when you're looking at who's got the best staff.

Hell no. Lutcher all the way man. But I have strong family ties to the Riverside school and coach Roussel. And I know that they have consistently overachieved there based on success and talent available.

No doubt. Late 90's into the 00's they were a machine.

Hahnville hasnt rivaled what Lutcher has done?

How many teams have beaten ECA in a championship game?

Lutcher dodge's all the big boys. Not that they arent a good program, but they have a pretty easy road most of the time.

check out Lutcher's schedule. we'll find out how good they are in the first 5 weeks.

dutchtown, hahnville, destrehan. pretty rough

i also heard scotlandville is a good team, but i dont know a damn thing about them.

i dont really know much about some of those teams in their new district.

Lutcher has 3 state titles in the last ~8 years, Hahnville has 1. And I wouldnt say Lutcher dodges all the big boys. They are usually near the tops in the state in power points bc they play a tough nondistrict schedule. But I do agree they need to play more of the JCs, Evangels of the state to be considered upper echelon but this discussion was more about strength of coaching staffs.

McKnight might get smoked by Landry, but the Curtis lines would most likely eat up those of Lutcha

They're going to catch Dutchtown at a good time with Reed and Reid banged up, they stomped Destrehan's arse just last week, and I'm not sure what Hahnville has this year so I can't comment on that.

2-1 at worst on that stretch.

I agree with that note, that Curtis would have them in the trenches. I'm just saying that I think Lutcher is in their realm, and if Curtis is a top 10 team in the country than there's no way Lutcher isn't in the top 100.

Destrehan played without their RB Henry Lennox...they'll be different with him in the lineup
