Surely that's by choice I'd imagine. Seems like tons of networks would want him as a talking head.
Has to be, it's not like he needs the money. His contract pays him mult-millions every year through the age of 54.

I love me some Griffey, but it's weird as frick to me how people arbitrarily say who was clean and who wasn't in the 90s.

I dunno. After seeing that Linda Cohn interview, I'm not sure he's all that great a personality on tv. Kinda boring or arrogant. Not sure which.

I don't know about that. Every other big HR hitter from the 90s is linked to roids and its funny how when the 2000s rolled around he hurt himself every time he swung a bat or ran down a fly ball.
Btw wasn't Alex Sanchez the first to get the PED suspension? He's 5'10 180lbs

I truly believe if he would've stayed healthy he would've been the greatest player in the history of MLB. To me he was still the greatest I have ever seen with my own eyes.
All of this, been saying it for years. Even with all the injuries he still got to SIXTH all-time in HRs and allegedly without PEDs during an era where everyone was using.
Griffey is my favorite all time.

I don't think that it is arbitrary, for the most part it is fairly easy-
List of 500 Hrs hitters post '98=
1) Bonds- failed multiple drug tests
2) AROD- failed multiple drug tests & suspended
3) Griffey- never failed a test
4) Thome- never failed a test
5) Sosa- failed drug test in '03
6) McGwire- admitted to using
7) Palmeiro- failed a drug test & suspended
8) Ramirez- failed multiple drug test & suspended
9) Thomas- never failed a drug test
10) Sheffield- admitted to using the 'cream' & listed in the Mitchell report
I am not going to put my balls on the line and say those 3 never did PEDs, but based on the evidence or the lack of in their cases, I'm considering them clean.

Yet people will say Jeff Bagwell or Albert Belle was dirty too despite no evidence.
People do arbitarily decide who was clean and who wasn't. IMO, based on Griffey's injuries and as big as he was when he went to Cincy vs. his Mariners seasons, he was most likely juicing.

Until recently, I wasn't aware that Jr. tried to off himself a short time after breaking into the bigs. It really hits home knowing how close we all came to not having Ken Griffey Baseball 64 and that scares the shite out of me

Who are the only CF to have a better career than him. Cobb and Mays?

He was never very charismatic or affiable as far back as I can remember. He was just one of those that let his play speak for him, which was the right choice for him.
Still love his play though. He was fun to watch.

His early years, he was known as immature and didn't know how to speak to the media.
