The contact. Heard there was lots of back and forth prior
Also, when looking at video one is drawn to left as the contact was that way. But looking at the right Mags might have thought he was as close to wall as he wanted to be. Perhaps that was part of his decision as he didn’t want to get squeezed more?

Gragson didn't understand who he was racing against. K-Mag has a reputation, for better or worse, as a very aggressive driver. He doesn't put up with anything on track or off track. He was that way in F1, and he's that way in IMSA/WEC. Gragson was pulling some K-Magesque defensive moves, and K-Mag ain't putting up with that. K-Mag responded in-race the only way he knows how, and after the race he responded in a typical Danish way. He verbatim said "You fricked around and found out."

Very solid race. I'd be okay with this being a permanent fixture on the schedule, I don't know about running it on July 4th, though.

SVG gonna have to pull some results out of his arse now to make chase. Needs to win next week. Be top 5 at Atlanta and Daytona. And get more top tens along the way. San Diego was worst case scenario.

Gragson cost himself way better finish by intentionally dragging back to retaliate imo.

My opinion wheels coming off. Nascar drops them 2 laps. Ok fine, but we almost had a winner coming from 2 down and that doesn’t sit well with me. I think if you lose a tire you should be unable to gain both laps back. Its supposed to be a safety thing and they already boot CC next race.
If they were not allowed to get laps back then it would be worthwhile to make sure lug is tight before leaving.
What makes yesterday worse is he didn’t stop in another pit to tighten. Nor back up. By giving laps back it defeats purpose of penalty. At road courses it allows them to take drastic gambles. And it almost paid off.
Or penalize them 1 lap with no free pass.

I’m not sure Magnussen started it. Or if he did, that first contact had Noah basically parking that on entry of 12B. Can’t really pin that on mags when guy in front is defending as aggressively as Gragson was. Noah wasn’t interested in a guy making his first start getting by him.
