Agree. But from a TV revenue POV. Bump day is a lot of TV time and is hyped so much. TV makes way more than $1m having it so it would not surprise me if they helped fund a 34th team. And sponsors too, so a 34th team isn’t losing money and might make some.

Not sure when they lock down entries but we might have a few more weeks at best to get an official 34th?

It's not the 34th team funded by Fox that is the issue. It's other small teams like Abel that would be affected if they get bumped

Just behind Conor there are eight wins between the next four guys.

If you can find the list of no-tow speeds, that is perhaps better info, although this is just Day 1 of Indy track work, there's a lot of refinement to be done.

How much do you think the speeds listed will increase to for qualifying? I think they can get to 233 range.

The pole was 232.79 last year. 233 may depend on a perfect weather day

They use extra boost for qualifying, so the speeds set during practice aren't comparable to qualy speeds.

The Friday before qualifying is Fast Friday and that's the only practice time that they have where they have qualy boost available.

Last year's fastest practice speed before Fast Friday was 227.546 mph, so they will probably gain 2-3 mph over the Open Test first day's speed.

Last year's fastest no-tow speed before Fast Friday was 222.760 mph, so again, it looks like they have 2 mph to gain over the Open Test first day's speed.

Mimi Bekhechi, senior vice-president for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) UK and Europe, accused the 40-year-old of lacking empathy. "Birds have feelings, apparently more than Grosjean does, considering that he seemed more concerned with his car, helmet, and suit – all replaceable – than the smash-up of this unsuspecting bird," Bekhechi said in a statement.

I like birds. I just set up my third nest box in my back yard. In one of the boxes three Bewick's Wren chicks just fledged. We have plants that specifically attract hummingbirds. I have a seed feeder and a hummingbird feeder, and I hang suet as well. I also just saw a Hooded Oriole for the first time this season (they are the prettiest bird that we see around here). A Black-headed Grosbeak recently came to our yard for the first time ever. I probably have more empathy for birds than the average person does.

But c'mon, sometimes shite happens. It's funny.

Even though I am an Andretti fan, I am rooting for Conner Daly to win the 500
