Double header to end season and make up for lost races is my guess

Im thinking it has nothing to do with F1

12 or 24 hour endurance races maybe.

I mean, logistically they may be able to pull it off. Silverstone would be easy for equipment.

For COTA, the teams will already be here for Vegas, so not hard for them to make it, it will just be if the spare logistical equipment can be.

If they run twice at COTA, I hope they run another variation of the track. COTA has multiple layouts.

Only other configuration is the one that NASCAR and Formula E (will) run.

I agree with you though, the way it reads its as if it’s something in tandem.

They don’t really join forces if the last two races happen to be at those two.

I can't imagine running Silverstone in the first week of December would be a good idea for anyone. Austin would be very pleasant for Thanksgiving.

That would also be hard for WEC to pull off. They were supposed to go COTA > Fuji > Bahrain. WEC doesn't have the logistics that F1 has, and it'd be hard to pull off a double header at COTA, get to Japan, and then have to race Silverstone in November.

I'd lean more towards an acquisition/partnership announcement?

This is what I think is likely. Same group running operations at both or something like that.

Both selling out to PE

Would fit since they're going private and going to charge a fortune for the few select members.

Silverstone is owned/run by a drivers club. They could be committing to guide COTA in the same way they have.

What time is the announcement? Seeing rumors that it may be a co-branding and ticket package/swapping deal

If that is it, then thats a huge nothingburger

ETA: Yup, Silverstone has it on their page. What a huge fricking letdown.
