Welp, the only thing that could stop Max was his car shitting the bed.

Dude was a beast throughout the race.

Agree with Max that watching old school racing was fun. No drama from team radio. Don’t have to hear the drivers whining.

Also, I know the commentators knew who Max was and what he was capable of, but it was funny to listen to them be like “oh no, I don’t know if I would do that”. Meanwhile, Max is like full send.

The question will be, what does this do for Max's future? Getting so close to winning, does this push him even more to transition over to this form of racing?

Also, where does the Nurumburg 27' race line up against the F1 calendar. If he is still in F1, does he skip to do this race again if there is a conflict?

I'd imagine he will want to do more of the 24hr stuff now. LeMans? Daytona?

I missed it what happened to his car?

Max has said he wants to do all the endurance races.

Not sure, but looks like after Max ran his laps they came in, swapped drivers, and shortly after the car had issues on the track.

Issues with the drive train, something in the rear

Yeh that sucks. Looks like Mercedes is still gonna get their first win in forever. They probably would have preferred it be Max’s car.

Just saw this highlight of a Mustang almost going airborne.

Saw a snippet of Max's last run. When he took over, they were 8 seconds up, by the time he got done, they were up close to 40 seconds or something similar.

Dude can drive. I'm hoping he dips his toe in every form of racing at some points and is competitive. Will just help solidify him as one of, if not that best drivers ever.

I was watching that mustang for a bit yesterday morning and it was an entertaining watch. Seems like there was a ton going around it and it sounded great.

Speaking before the team's victory hopes were slashed, the 28-year-old confirmed his wish to make his participation in the Nurburgring 24 Hours a regular occurrence.

"The Nurburgring 24 Hours is one of the biggest races of the year, which is why we're here," said the four-time F1 champion.

"We're racing with a professional line-up, and having me on board is really exciting. This is something I want to do every year - whether with one or more cars - and our main goal is to win races."

Like I said above, going to be interesting which one Max chooses if quali/race interferes with F1 schedule next year.

They can move the 24hr race if he really wants to race.

I would imagine if he is in the title hunt he doesn't get permission to run the race. Skipping an F1 race isn't unheard of though.

btw, saw that Netflix is going to carry the Canadian GP... Odd that Apple is going this route for Canada, but didn't for the Miami GP.

Probably helps baseline of viewership seeing and American GP without Netflix first.

May or may not watch, depends on what is going on.

Like Fightin said below, wonder if its a test against Miami GP to see if they can get more viewership by outsourcing.

ETA: One thing is clear, they wouldn't be doing this if the numbers were as good as their SVP claimed in Miami.

They announced Netflix would be carrying several races before the season

They also stated a few races would be broadcast for free

They agreed to this before the season started. Miami was never an option to simulcast.

Seems like it was Austin, Monaco, Canada.

Canada v Indy is probably the driver.

Yet they haven’t announced any of it. Saw it claimed there were some free ones out there but never any details. Just by happenstance see it pop up on Netflix.

I was glancing around the news trying to see where you saw that. I haven’t seen it announced personally.
