Wouldn’t be a Daytona race weekend without rain.

Xfinity just got rid of the last female driver who basically got fired for wrecking too much. Hope this one works out better.
Trucks is a rough series because they wreck drivers more than others, its not personal its just a lot of young drivers taking too many risks. New drivers have to usually pay their dues the hard way.

President Donald Trump is rumored to be attending the Daytona 500 - but driver Bubba Wallace is wholly uninterested in his potential presence at the race.
Wallace and Trump previously feuded in 2020, after the sport rallied around the driver - the only black driver in NASCAR's Cup Series - following the discovery of the noose in his assigned stall at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
Federal authorities later ruled that the noose had been hanging since the previous October and was not a hate crime. Trump went on to say that Wallace should apologize and called the ordeal a 'hoax,' with the driver responding by condemning the President for his 'hate' on social media
Now in his second term as President, Trump is expected to be at Sunday's Daytona 500, and Wallace said he 'couldn't care less' if he was in the stands.
'We're here to race,' Wallace said at the Daytona 500 media day. 'Not for the show.'
Trump came for Wallace on social media after the noose was found in 2020 - but determined not to be a hate crime by authorities.

Where are the best sections for Austin Texas? This will be my first in person race and want to make it worthwhile. Many thanks!

SIAP but what is the Duel at Daytona?
ETA: I see it has something to do with qualifying.

How do the Duels set the starting lineup for the Daytona 500?
The Duels consist of two 60-lap, 150-mile qualifying races that set positions third to 40th in the Daytona 500. The finishing order from Duel No. 1 will make up the inside rows for the Daytona 500. Then, those participating in Duel No. 2 will complete the outside rows for the “Great American Race.” Remember, the starting front row for the Daytona 500 was previously determined via single-car qualifying. Duel No. 1 is set to get underway Thursday, Feb. 13 (7 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Meanwhile, Duel No. 2 is tentatively scheduled for 8:45 p.m. ET (FS1, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

SIAP but what is the Duel at Daytona?
They are qualifying races. They are unique to the Daytona 500 compared to all of the other races in the NASCAR Cup Series season. The pole position and 2nd position for the Daytona 500 starting grid are determined by single car qualifying. All of the other positions are determined by the finishing order of each duel race. Duel 1 determines the starting order of the inside lane for the Daytona 500. Duel 2 determines the starting order for the outside lane.
The Duel races are also an opportunity to learn about how your car handles in the pack under race conditions.

I wish Fox would get rid of the comic book pictures of the drivers.

I should've known better, but I really thought they'd refresh the whole graphics package this year with the new broadcast deal officially starting.
