I am in Bellagio on Lake Como and working toward Florence on Tuesday morning for a wedding. I am trying to make it to Pisa to see the back half of the time trial come in tomorrow but it’s a ferry then 3 trains away.

We shall see

Ayuso dropped and already lost a minute. Good for Del Toro, UAE was playing games and not committing to him as team leader. Now he can get all the help required to try to win the Pink. Ready to see some attacks in the last few KM’s up Santa Barbara

Giro went boom today for UAE. They still have a strong team but del toro has never been in this position and I think today is a peak at what’s to come. He didn’t get totally shelled today but showed he’s going to have a hard time defending this lead. I expect he cracks wide open before this tour ends. Young guy in his first grand tour and the weight of this team on his back is something totally new to him. Great talent and getting a great education in this tour will help him in the long run. This week is so hard and should be cracking. Can’t wait.

I can see that for sure. Yates looks good and I’m really impressed by Gee. I would like to see where pellizzari might be without babysitting Primoz. He looked really strong today. Oh well…

A big reason Del Toro was able to stay in pink so far is because the route hasn't been that demanding.

It's been an unusual course and tomorrow's stage fits that going up the easy side of the Motirolo summitting with still 50km left to the finish.

I’d love to see Bernal sneak on the podium after what he’s been through

It’s extremely lame that they are going to Bormio and not doing the Stelvio or the Gavia and doing the easy side of the Mortirolo

I think everyone could get behind this sentiment. He’s very likable and has had bad lot recently.

Well…del toro won today! Just when you think you’ve got a good feel for this tour…then you don’t. Go figure. Kid is fighting hard and showing class as a rider.

That was really impressive.

He was gapped on the Mortirolo though so we'll see if he can hang with Carapaz in the upcoming mountains. The stage to Sestriere on Saturday has is brutal with the Finestre climb but again that summits 30km from the finish, so a lot like today's stage.

Legendary shite from Yates today. I watched that entire 2018 Giro where he was rocketing up climbs taking 20-30 seconds each mountain day. I will never forget flipping on stage 19 of that giro and watching Simon full crack and Froome going on the most insane attack at that time in cycling. Watching this come full circle is pretty cool

It’s pretty awesome he did it on the same climb and man Wout is the hero of the tour for Visma. So many close 2nds, but when it mattered most he helped deliver them the Pink.

Yep sky lined it out from the bottom of the finestre that day. Yates full cracked almost immediately, and that was the day Froome consumed 100+ g/hr of carbs blowing everyone’s mind that you could eat that much
