Those Roland Garros tix you got for my son and I two years ago are the source of some great memories. I love that place, the setting in Paris, the grounds, the fact that you sit so close to the action on the outside courts that your clothes have red clay dust in them when leaving. What a great time.

Had to look it up to add to the SEC list:
Francisco Ceruncolo - South Carolina
Gabriel Diallo - Kentucky (beat Cerundolo in R1)
Spizzirri - Texas (lost in Q2)

Will Shelton win a set against Carlos?

Interesting question. Carlos has had an up and down year so it depends on which version of Carlos shows up……. If it is the locked in version then,….no, he will be more consistent than Shelton and win in three. If it is the “what is wrong with Carlitos,,,?” version then I think it goes five sets, but Carlos hangs on to win.

Why do I really not like Holger Rune?? Watched him straight set the Argentine Olivieri in Philippe-Chatrier in 2023 RG, but really just seems like a cad to me. Anyways, not that anyone cares but mini-rant over. Hope Musetti gets him in the next round. Much more interesting game and more fun to watch, if you ask me.

Alcaraz messing around vs Dzumhur. 4/17 on BPs, dropped the 3rd set and down a break in the 4th.
eta: Just literally punted a ball into the stands.
Finally gets the break back. Was 0/9 combined S3 and S4.

McEncroe's tennis love interest got his arse handed to him by a 34 year old " bosnian" for an hour or so tonight. I was pulling for the little guy if for no other reason that Mac's elitist schtick.

Rune is good for the sport even if I don't love him, personally. He brings personality and a level of sass that is missing in tennis. Rune annoys me though when he is always making excuses for when he loses.
Never thought I would see my man Olivieri getting a shoutout on Tiger Droppings, though!

There's something I love about his game. It's just kind of free flowing and explosive. Courier says his flaw is he has no plan. I know he seemed to have endurance issues for a while. I can totally see why someone would think he is a punk. But, it would be nice to have someone challenge Sinner and Alcaraz.

He's a punk for sure. But he's a great contrast to Alcaraz as golden boy and robot Sinner (even with his doping scandal).
Shelton/Alcaraz should be an awesome match on Sunday.
With top seeds Fritz and Ruud out, Q3 is wide open.
Musetti -134
Rune +210 (just bet it)
Tiafoe +450
Altmaier +1600
Smart bet might be Big Foe. -250 vs Altmaier so you're getting Tiafoe +300 in that QF vs the Musetti/Rune winner. (Assuming he beats Altmaier).

This may be crazy, but he reminds me physically of Pat Rafter - the way he kinda stalks around and his build - I know the games have very little similarities, but for some reason it strikes that cord for me.

You mean he is such an underdog that you have to bite on it? I think the odds were like that with him and Sinner at the Australian Open. He would have to serve out of his mind and steal a couple of breakers IMO. He just doesn't have the shot tolerance against the top guys. That said, I think he is more likely to beat Alcaraz than Sinner as Alcaraz can be more streaky than Sinner as he sometimes gets wild with all of the variety and drop shots.
Sinner is destroying a pretty good player in Lehecka today.
I think Zverev can win the tournament and if you can get +1500 or more it's good value. I realize beating Djoker, Sinner, and Alcaraz would be a tall task. I'm seeing +1000 at BetMGM, +1800 at FanDuel, and +1500 at DraftKings.
Fonseca and Draper today is a banger. I'm not sure Fonseca should be the underdog. Same with Rune tomorrow.
