Tuned in earlier to see Charles smashing the corner off his car… damn.
Tried watching highlights of the WEC hyperpole but couldn’t make much sense of it. Hopefully be able to see some good racing this Father’s Day weekend.

Stroll into the wall early in FP2

Hyperbole is essentially q2 and q3 of F1. Two rounds for both lmgt3/lmp2 and LMH with the slowest eliminated after the first round. They used to run all three classes together, but this year they put LMH in their own hyperpole.

George got pole last year. Can he get pole this year? Both Mercedes looking good so far.

Seems like it sets up for Merc. Going to get hotter each day.
The Ferrari looks like shite. Not planted at all and sliding all over.

I would just like to invite everyone to the Williams hype train. Plenty of room on here.

I thought they wouldn't show out again until Spa. High speed tracks are their thing, just didnt expect the heavy braking zones here to help them.

You up there for the race?

Yessir. Great weather, the locals assure us next year being early wont be a problem with weather either.
Hate it conflicts with Le Mans this year.

The C6 tire still sucks.
Edit: Looks like the C6 is ultimately still faster than the C5, but just barely, and it seems a lot harder to manage.

Oscar has been struggling this weekend, not sure why. I don't think he's going to win tomorrow.
Ferrari and George look good. Alonso in P6.
Williams in P9 and P10, so maybe don't expect any upside surprise in qualy.
Yuki dead last. Didn't get many laps. In the garage for most of the session, apparently they were replacing the front brakes. I was in his cockpit for his last run (his only run on reds). The car was massively unstable braking into Turn 1 and transitioning through Turn 2. They said he was losing a whole second in just the first sector, and I saw that it was all in Turn 1/ Turn 2. Also, apparently FP3 is when they bolted on the latest-spec floor, so he only had one hour to get used to the new floor, but that was cut short because of the brake work. I can't imagine why they thought waiting for FP3 to give him the new floor was a good idea.

Anyone shunted against the Wall of Champions yet this weekend?

Yes, a few guys. Piastri in FP3. Bearman I think. Stroll I think. I think Hulk spun and brushed it with both his rear wing and front wing.

Sainz out! Impeded by Hadjar!
Crazy tight times. P16 Bortoleto is just +0.559s

Williams went from practice royalty to barely making it

Sainz's car was not handling well on that last lap anyway.
Albon P8 +0.264s he's doing OK so far.
