Welcome to the Top 100 Jaoa Fonseca.
Window of opportunity for this "lost generation" of tennis players is closing fast.
Fonseca, Michelsen, Perricard to name a few young players that are only getting better. That's not mentioning Sinner (23) and Alcaraz (still only 21 years old) who probably haven't peaked yet.

Also, Asian-American Learner Tien. Just won his first slam match at 19

Is Rublev the biggest underachiever of his talent level of tour? A complete mental midget

Rublev is a hothead, but I think this match is a lot more about Fonseca.
I saw Fonseca play a few weeks ago, and when his forehand is on it is amazing. If Fonseca can add some more consistency to his game he will be top 5 and a grand slam winner.

Finally, he's been getting WCs to the US Open for years. /sarcasm
Though I'm interested to see how he does against better competition this year. I think he was about to make the jump from Challenger to Tour play last year but missed time with an injury.

Not even close. That would be Zverev; Honorable Mention to Fritz.

A guy of Rublev's talent having never been past a grand slam quarters is insane

I will admit, 0-10 in Slam QFs is impressive; but most of those losses were to better players.
The amount of Set and Match points that Zverev blows in key moments is what separates it for me, then you factor in that in terms of raw talent and physical tools, Zverev should be a multiple Slam guy. He has a 2-6 career SF and 0-2 record in Finals at Slams. He honestly should have won 1 last year.
Blew a 2-1 lead over Alcaraz in last years French Open Final. Blew a 2-0 lead over Meddy in last years Australian Open SF.

Rublev may pummel the ball off of the ground, but he has a mediocre serve. I would say he is a decent mover.
I watched Zverev in person once. He lost the match, but I was blown away at how he was moving at that size. He has an elite backhand. I think he had the second best 1st serve percentage on tour last year. If he keeps that up, he will win a major or two. Meddy is probably a little better than him at grinding all day, that's the difference between the two IMO.

I had no idea the Aussie Open used to be grass.
Smart for Lulu to try and appeal more to men IMO. They have some cool ads featuring DK Metcalfe and OBIII that play constantly in Lifetime Fitness gyms as well. I won't wear their stuff until they get shorter shorts though. They never have anything shorter than 6" inseam in their stores. "It's not heckin 2018", I tell them.

I guess this year is Wawrinka's victory lap. I'm surprised he's still at it. Though if you get a WC, might as well take it.

Charleston's Navarro is still in it. Her billionaire father made his bones buying up hospital and other debt, started a bank, and lost out to Tepper for ownership of the Charlotte Panthers. My wimmins follow her like she is Jim Jones.

Navarro versus Stearns was a crazy match. Stearns was up 5-3 in the third and should have won it, think she melted down physically and mentally.

I think Zverev has a mental block that will be super tough to get over. Remember watching the US Open final a few years ago (2020?) with him and Thiem, he should have won that match but when he was one game away he could not hit a shot in the court.

Djokovic drops Set 2 to Portuguese youngster Jaime Faria. Faria played very well that set and Djokovic doesn't look 100%, no power behind his FH and Faria is sitting back and smashing the ball.

Luckily for Djokovic, his legs seem fine and Faria has never played a 5 setter (or 4 sets).
