Joker seems to have lost a step here. Not just in his knee… Father Time is unbeaten.

He’s served terribly all tournament. Really think he comes back in 2025 for last hurrah farewell tour to vulture title 25. Father Time has crept in that quickly. Just hope that he can beat Spanish Freddie mercury next season once or twice in majors.

What are the chances an American wins this thing?

The bottom half of the draw looks not terrible for us.

Djokovic has no one that is going to scare him in his quarter. Rublev if he can hold it together for 4 rounds. Big Foe and Shelton if they can can catch some American Fire. Zverev, Ruud and Fritz on the other half of the bottom. Pencil him in for the final. Sinner and Med in the top quarter. Alcaraz has a pretty easy quarter. Will likely have to contend with Hurcaz' big serve in the QF then what will likely be a grind of a SF.

So far, this didn’t age too well…

There was a kids’ night event on Armstrong, so the Keys match started almost an hour late. Then it went 3 sets with a tiebreak, so Zverev didn’t even get on court until after 11.

Was gonna quote post my own post, but I was the only one posting last night and woulda felt like I was talking to myself.

It didn't age well, but I didn't see any predictions that picked either of the two that beat them, lol. Nice thing is that these two results give a huge boost to American hopes to get a guy in the last four and maybe win. I know a lot has to happen but one can hope.

I thought Carlos looked uninspired and almost distracted and Popyrin flat out took it to Novak in the first two sets and held on when Novak tried to come back. Novak was as bad serving as I've seen him in a long time. Interesting times. I wonder how much of an effect the Olympics have had on this tournament?

What a disappointment to have Djokovic and Alcaraz both eliminated so early.

Rooting for Sinner now

Didn’t see the match last night, but yeah, I was very underwhelmed by Alcaraz. Not taking anything away from the Dutch guy who just made shot after shot.

Yeah I'm thinking Novak plays at least one of Montreal or Cincy if not for the Olympics, and maybe it makes enough of a difference for him to escape last night. He probably still loses at some point though. He just hasn't been impressive at all this year to me except for that Olympics final.

He did it all except for the career Golden Slam so that probably was an added incentive.

Well, you’re getting a little hosed on the men’s match. Rublev/Dimitrov. But, you get Coco. I’m surprised Fritz/Ruud or Nakashima/Zverev are not on Ashe.

Exactly, and I know I'll get blasted for saying this, but between the draw and walkovers, he had a huge stroke of good fortune. Not his fault, I know, but he was fortunate to get to that Wimbledon final.
