I don’t think anyone involved in Bunkie is complaining about having the ability control where the game is played. Where did that come from?

I don’t think they mind not playing in the mud. The mud hurts their offense as well.

This…

Terrebonne moved a playoff game against us a few years ago from their muddy grass field to Thibodaux’s turf and we just agreed to it

I see that but I don’t think he is a Bunkie fan. We were happy when the move was announced.

Honestly this helps Bunkie. Dunham would much rather play at home. Although it will be Dunham’s third time playing at Parkview this season.

I am a Bunkie alumni and played football there. I realize we are up against it and it would be an upset if we won. I am hopeful that we minimize our mistakes and see what happens.

Hope all the fans and kids make it home safe and injury free.

Bunkie has a really good team. I can assure you Dunham is not taking them lightly.

side note: if anyone ever wanted to roll up with a Uhaul and clear out a few houses in Bunkie, tomorrow is your night.

I’m sure it has more to do with the turf field at Parkview and Dunham doesn’t want a swamp for a field to slow down Elijah Haven.

Dunham's field was a literal mudhole when they played Episcopal. They moved their following game against Slaughter to Zachary b/c it was still effed up so badly a week later.

Actually I was really hoping to see Zion smash the ball on a mud hole field all night and limit the possessions for Dunham.

I know we have Kyle Johnson to cover their best receiver but a dry turf field with their offense agains our 0 coverage defense worries me.

I've seen a future d1 qb throw for 300 yards on a MUDDY QUAGMIRE with no grass between the hashes and beat a wingbone team by 3 scores...

and I have seen a veer team rush for 300 and throw for 150 on a similar field.

it's what team has the focus to execute that matters.

I honestly think the field is fine. The move to Slaughter was to give the field extra time to recover in anticipation of hosting three playoff games. Traction was not an issue against PBS or LCA.

It’s more about parking capacity. With the grass reserved area muddy and unusable there just isn’t enough spots to handle the crowd.

They really have no say so on where it's played. I mean st aug has hosted semifinal games at memstsas and the NEVER host regular season games there.

Thought both teams had to agree to move game?

One place I never got to go to was Fort Jackson…

Pretty cool place. I was there for the last jamboree right before Katrina hit. Played there off and on my whole life. Always thought it was cool how there was a football field and civil war fort in such close proximity

14.14.8 in LHSAA handbook says otherwise

Teams absolutely have to agree on a site that is not a normal home field

Anyone making it up for the ASH Curtis game please note that parking is gonna be a nightmare. I pretty certain they are going to have parking avail at Calvary Baptist Church starting at 5:30. Shuttles running every 15 minutes to the stadium. I will verify. It’s less than a mile from the school.

I stand corrected but any team wanting to move a game can as game management say the original venue is unplayable due to electrical, field or other safety issues.

I remember a game being moved because some kids in a 4x4 went and dug deep ruts all over the field.
