Not to mention he’s already serving far better than Rafa did at any point in his career. His ceiling is insanely high imo.

did you enjoy it? Would love to hear your observations. There is something very different about watching tennis in person. You can pick up on things you can't see on TV like in no other sport.
This was my fifth time at IW. I've always been willing to pay a premium to be as close the court as possible. The one thing that comes to mind is that tennis is less graceful in person. I actually mean that in a good way. You can really appreciate the physical nature of the sport. It looks easier on TV, but in person you realize how hard these guys are working out there.

Totally agree. You really can't tell from TV how hard they are hitting the ball.
Any observations on players specifically?

I've seen both Federer and Nadal play at IW. Alcaraz yesterday was the best I've ever seen. He was at the top of his game.
Medvedev has the type of game to never get steamrolled, yet that's what happened

My "general" Miami preview. LINK
About to start breaking down the draws and that will be a separate thread.

Love it. I enjoy court speed discussion, but I feel like weather and even ball composition muddy the waters enough that it's difficult to get a good read on things. I would think conditions are a bit more uniform in most venues than IW where the desert can change day-to-day.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the same ball is used at all Masters tournies, which at least provides a little consistency. I’m not even sure what type of Wilson ball the US Open uses these days.

Masters used to be all Penn, not sure if that is still the case. I had no idea men and women were using different balls at times.

Apparently Shelton hit a 147 mph serve at IW. The 2nd vid on this link shows a ridiculous kick serve that I didn't know he possessed too.

The Wilson U.S. Open ball is the best tennis ball I have ever used. Granted, this is off-the-shelf variety, but they last literally 10x longer than anything you can buy off the shelf.

That's all there is lol. Not sure if it works for porn or anything like that but if I was in my 20's I'd probably know

Nuno Borges, now inside the ATP top 70, has to play a QR1 match in Miami tomorrow, less than 24 hours after winning Phoenix.
4 hours plane trip, will arrive just in time after playing four matches in the previous three days:
Borges took care of Steve Johnson in straight sets.

Check out Gojo's winners and unforced errors in this match against the brick wall Holt lol

That's insane. And 19 aces. I low-key really like watching Borna Gojo play. Absolutely no finesse. Does it work against solid tour level returners? Nah. Challenger matches and qualifying? Yep.
