Looks like the Truck Series race tonight will start on wet weather tires.

The xfinity race was enjoyable for those who caught it. JH Nemechek with the win.

His sponsor was fire suppression company, very fitting.

Green flag moved up a whopping 10 minutes because of rain

Starting the race at 1:00pm or noon central time would just be too extreme. NASCAR simply cannot do such a terrible thing. We must start races late.

You guys seem very into the race today.

I just woke up from a nap, so I don’t even know what’s been happening in the race.

Best day of the season for Stewart-Haas, yet it's looking like they still won't have much to celebrate between Preece's pit lane speeding penalty and Harvick having a tire go down after he just left the pits under caution.

Larson with a burnout almost all the way around the track.

Also Chase comes home with a top 10. Not a bad result considering where he ran most of the afternoon.

Pretty odd finish considering the top 3 were non-factors for most of the race. I think Truex might've been down 2 laps at one point in the second stage.

Even Elliott somehow got a top 10 after spending the day stuck around 20th.

Nothing. Bunch of bumping for 17th place. The lead was a complete dud.

Not gonna lie, I found it a little compelling when Hamlin was leading and about to lap Wallace. Bubba suddenly decided to race and kept getting into the #11. Even Bowyer and Labonte were wondering what he was doing on the broadcast.

Wallace is enough of a hothead, I was halfway expecting him to do something stupid that would've spun Hamlin. Then shite would've gotten interesting.

What I did watch seemed pretty meh, which is sad for Martinsville. Larson had like a 4 second lead at the end.

The cars are too equal to race good here. The drivers are too nice to make it exciting with bump and run (had some but not much).

Track position was kimg and strategy too. What happened to tires that grind down fast?

TV production is just blah. Bobby isn’t good in booth (great guy notwithstanding).

Chase was mired in back all day but after last stop he gained 12 spots thru passing which is the most of anyone in last stint. Ended up 10th.

Not a good Marrinsville race by past standards. Nascar has to stop regulating too much of cars and let teams have some creative work back. If not for pit stategy the race would have ended close to how it started.

I’m no expert whatsoever, but they’ve taken a lot of downforce away and this is still shite racing… My understanding past that is that now it’s on NASCAR to let them unleash some horsepower and Goodyear to provide a tire that wears out at a reasonable rate.

I saw a clip a couple days ago of Dale Jr qualifying at Atlanta in the 88 COT. He was hauling arse… Sliding off of turn coming to the green and 201 going into turn 1.

As much as everyone hated the COT, it was pretty bad arse compared to what a qualifying lap is today.

I really enjoyed the 2007-2009 seasons. No one else seems to agree.

I was listening to "The Teardown" and Jeff Gluck mentions that a high up at HMS said if engine changes are made they are a year out to implement with ordering parts.

I'd like to see them copy F1 and have different compound tires available during the race to create some strategy during the race.

The tires are actually too good now and don’t wear out as much. So many ways they can fix things.

I recallwhen they had Hoosier and Goodyears and that was fun but had way more tire problems as tire makers gambled to help get their teams wins but had lots of failures.

Goodyear is only supplier so would need to get them to buy in. But since it would cost them mega money with no or little commercial return on value, I doubt it happens. Pirrelli is getting world wide exposure bit Goodyear would not. Like your idea but my guess is dollars aren’t there and it would not increase tire sales.

If they made skinnier tires then they can’t attack corners as fast. That would require driver to do more work. They have to fix something its broken now. Need to allow more room for teams to do things. Its a parade now
