That's why the early 00's were the best, good drivers and cars could make a difference. Nascar's answer, let's do this to the best 1.5'er in Atlanta too.
The 80's were better. Cars looked like the actual cars they were based on and the bias ply tires made better racing.

I would argue the 2001 plate package produced the best racing that Daytona and Talladega have ever had.

I used to love Atlanta and always thought it was the perfect place to end the season. They really fricked it up.
It was the best 1.5'er, you could ride from top to bottom unlike the rest, which created much better racing because you had options, and even back in the day it wasn't the typical D oval. Used to be the fastest track in Nascar.

I don’t know if it was ever better than ‘86, thirteen different winners, Earnhardt winning the title, Tim Richmond was in his glory.

Who has been the biggest causes of D500 wrecks? If memory serves I seem to recall Keslowski is at or close to top.

Johnson caused a lot of plate wrecks in his time.

There was about a 5-10 year stretch. I've long said bring back the roof bar. I have no idea how it would work with these cars but it created hella racing back in the day. We've proven the amount of wrecked cars hasn't changed so they might as well make the racing better.

We'll agree to disagree on the current Atlanta configuration.
People don't like change.

Lets show 5 minutes of racing and then 7 minutes of commercials.

Good one, he is in top 5 for sure if not 1
Didn’t Lagano as well? Him and Kes teamates caused some big ones

I would say him and Kes are top-2.

McMurray belongs on the plate track wreck cause list.

Surprised they advertised for this one, they had no problem selling out Not in the Lifetime Tour. Axl must have got caught up watching the Coliseum races the last 2 years and got curious.
