He's in his mid 80's. Are you expecting him to be doing back flips on stage?

So is Richard, but in fairness Richard never came as close to buying it as Bobby did and Bobby’s chosen not to use Just for Men.

I'll say it now. Not really a fan of plate/pack racing. Much prefer tracks where the cars can get separated from each other.

Alright, let’s do this.

I’ll go with Chase to win and Rowdy as 2nd pick. If Chase can get thru the wrecks he will be there as he is more methodical in these races. Kyle is in RCR equipment which does good here historically.

Something tells me Harvick is going to play it smart and avoid the inevitable messes and wind up out front in his final 500.
I'm leaning Harvick, Truex, Busch for the storyline but I don't think Stewart Haas has the consistency. Chastain would be a good story picking up from last year. It'll probably end up being Logano or Hamlin, which would suck.

I thought maybe because of his health and Petty's age they were gonna have all the living Daytona 500 drivers together, ended up being 9 of them.

No not at all. It was just a little jarring. I’m in Alabama too, and as a sports writer (reason for my handle) I interviewed Bobby (and Davey and Donnie) multiple times over the years (and went to NY in ‘83 to cover the awards banquet the year he won the title, and was there at Lakeshore in 1989 when he got out of rehab) and it was just a little jarring especially with him standing next to Richard who’s the same age. But time marches on for all of us.

Am I the only one that thinks Ty has more natural driving ability than Austin?

I miss Steve Byrnes and Matt Yocum being on Fox. RIP Steve.

Neither one has much.

The King, a very wise man, once said to have a really good race, you need fast cars, in the middle cars and slow cars. Now nobody can get out of formation.

And Daytona is significantly more narrow than Talladega, so there isn’t much room to move around.
