More than 2 hours and they haven't penalized Gasly. Glad to see the FIA is FIA'ing
ETA: Ruling out.
Gasly gets two 3 place grid penalties "for the next race he participates in"
Sounds like a race ban incoming. But they didn't mention any penalty points, so maybe it is just strange wording.

6 place drop, so he'll start 10th.
That's a fair penalty.

DRS closes when you hit the brake
It definitely closes when you lift off the throttle. Something like below 97% throttle shuts the flap.
Silverstone had a DRS zone through a corner but the driver's didn't lift. I don't remember Germany having anything like that.

“[There’ll be] one extra zone from the last corner up to the first. It’s not a big zone but the interesting thing is they could use it open through turn one if they wanted to. Because once they activate it after turn 18, Club, the exit of the last corner, it only closes when the either brake or back off. So they could potentially go through one [Abbey] and two [Farm] with it open.” – he explained.

Maybe it was Silverstone I was thinking off. The drivers would close the flap through turn one then reopen before the end of the DRS zone.

I stand corrected. Not sure why I thought they could let off and coast then reopen.

Alonso hit the gravel in Q1...

Might have more tendency to have the cars dig in and flip. Could also be just what the track has always had.
Much rather the gravel than the parking lot sized runoff areas.

frick it. Put lava in for the runoffs. Zee penalty for leaving zee track must be severe.

In 2006 I started making tables and charts to track the F1 seasons. They give an instant overview of how a season went. The progression chart sometimes shows a driver dominating the season, and it sometimes shows that it came down to the last race. There were some incredible seasons, like 2010 and 2007! And of course there's 2008, which is becoming more infamous as Felipe Massa considers a lawsuit to claim the championship.
Bookmarked to reference when needed, thanks for sharing!

quote:Watching that on the replay over and over, it was definitely on Hamilton. Russell never cut him off. He never should have tried to squeeze through like that.
as slow as he was going, that wasn't a hot lap. Lewis was on one. Russell didn't know he was there and drove him off. He apologized for being a dumbass over the radio

Race day
Prob another snoozer unless we get rain.
Q3 showed Max was a sand bagging SOB. He was actually up on his final lap too before aborting.
Unless there’s reds, rain, or car issues, he’s gonna win by 30 seconds

With TD having posters at multiple races Chicken is going to have to make a move to get us some press access eventually.
Hope you have a great time!

30 may be conservative. The Red Bull is going to stretch it legs at some real race tracks, we may never see it again.

I was being that... didn't want to be called out when I said "he may lap every care on the track"

If Checo plays bumper cars at the rear of the field like last week he'll be lapping people quickly.
This race marks the fall of Ferrari last season. At Catalunya LeClerc had a pit stop lead on the field, pitted and built it back up to a pit stop lead when his car went boom. It's pretty much been downhill for Ferrari since that race.

Interested to see how McClaren and Mercedes does. If the upgrades for Merc pay off and if McClaren's recent claw up to be competitive is just luck or if they finally have it figured out.
