Think people are forgetting how insane that Duke run was and the teams they had to go against to win it all.

They were so experienced plus the combo of Laettner and Hill was really tough. Either one could just take a game over vs anyone and the supporting cast was solid too.

College basketball was definitely better when duke went b2b, and probably better when Florida did as well.

That said, this uconn streak is damn impressive.

Duke had a damn good run in the late 80s-early 90s:
1986: national runner-up by 3 points
1987: sweet 16 loss to champ Indiana
1988: final four loss to champ Kansas
1989: final four loss to Seton Hall (who lost championship by 1 point)
1990: national runner-up by 30
1991: CHAMPS
1992: CHAMPS

5 straight final fours and 6 final fours in 7 years plus 2 rings

Who got screwed out of the title because of a horrible call.

Interesting that they went into a bit of a lull after that run. They finally got it cranked up again in the 97-98 season.

I'll say Duke because of the talent level back then. Guys were still staying 3-4 years.

all 3 would get their arse kicked by the UNLV winner, and UNLV team who threw title game.

I'm going UConn because of the roster turnover they had between year 1 and 2.

Sincere question: how many guys on their roster/starting lineup were picked up in the portal?

06/07 Florida and 91/92 Duke weren’t able to fill in needs through free agency.
