Max on flying laps and fricking up in sector 3 on this track.

Either setting pole by half a second or putting it into the wall.

Merc 11th and 14th in FP3.

I’m guessing 8 and 10 in quali.

FP2 was much more representative of final qualifying than FP3 last week.

Merc sandbags might be heavier than that.

They are running less downforce than last week and are slower on the straights. Something ain't right with that.

The entire back of the grid is Merc powered.

The front of the grid is pretty close. Mag's is only about a half second off the pole in 8th.

eta-All-Mercedes Q1 dropzone?
There may well be some engine mode caveats, and the pecking order is bound to diverge in the nighttime conditions of qualifying, but as it stands five Mercedes-powered cars being eliminated in Q1 looks like an eminently plausible scenario.

Tenth-placed Tsunoda is closer to Leclerc at the top of the timesheets than he is to Ricciardo in 16th.

Apparently they replaced the control electronics on K Mag's ride last night/today. So he didn't need a PU.

And the RB's may have some reliability concerns;

Tsunoda has taken a new set of power unit components: the internal combustion engine, MGU-H, turbocharger, MGU-K and exhaust system. So both AlphaTauris are now onto their second Honda- sorry, Red Bull, engines of the season already.

eta-And Gasly broke something in the drivetrain in last practice.

Hearing all these team principals talk on the Sky footage...all saying the same lines.

Looking forward to real stories after they leave Saudi.

But Toto very quick in interviews to say it's not the power unit, it's a drag problem. Doesn't want to take responsibility for the Merc PU being a dog for all the customer teams.

Toto took his Stihl to the rear wing and they are still getting crushed on the top end.
