I asked this in the SAD thread before I saw this one:
Sms you keep up with such things, I’ve been reading about Texas Tech’s coaching situation and I’ve simply decided they don’t want to be good at football
They fired their coach in October and named Sonny Cumber their interim. Cumbee is an alumni who had a decent career as a QB at tech. Cumbee has apparently done well enough that La Tech decided to hire him and Texas Tech has hired Joey McGuire who has never been a head coach or cordinator before in college and was just 6 years ago coaching high school.
Do I have that basically right? Wtf are they doing?? Seems like a natural fit to just keep Cumbee

I had to Google the TT coaching situation when the announcers we're talking about him leaving for LaTech. I was like, WTf would you leave TT for LaTech. Then found out he's the interim.
This makes no sense. The guy has won some good games as an interim and has this team rolling in this bowl game. So TT is hiring an old high school coach. They thing this guy will have recruiting connections in TX is my guess. Will be a dismal failure.
