Smithfield has been a big part in why he is still with a top level team.

If I’m Harvick I’m nervous. Think Hamlin is ok for now but 3 new winners in 5 races before the playoffs isn’t out of the question.

There’s rumors that he is out of the 10 after this season. Wonder if today would change that.

I just don't see who you replace him with when Smithfield is likely to go with Aric wherever he goes just like when he left the 43 for the 10. That's a seat and sponsorship hole to fill and I doubt that Haas would like to self finance another one of his rides just to stay as a four car team.

Yeah, that's crazy.

Funny the difference a year makes.

The 11 ain't out of the woods, either.

I think it’s 4 races. 2 road courses, Michigan, and Daytona.

So two Elliott wins and a Penske win at Daytona.

Harvick will be in

What happens if there is two additional first time winners this year? How are tie breakers resolved?

I could be wrong, but the highest point earner regardless of wins is automatically in, then first tiebreaker is number of wins and second tiebreaker is points.

So lowest in points among those with 1 win

Terrible take is terrible

Coming into this season he won 21 cup races the previous 3 years and averaged 5 wins a year the previous 8 seasons

Yep Brad K to Roush as was expected as a driver and partial owner.

Interestingly one pic I saw used Valvoline as the title sponsor. Cant remember where. Hendrick uses them as sponsors for Bowman and Byron I believe. So I wonder what'll happen with that.

I saw that picture, he may have just been taking a picture with the number 6 car? Also it will no longer be RFR(Roush Fenway racing), think I saw where it could be RFK, or Roush Fenway Keselowski racing.

I remember someone on this thread not long ago saying that he would be better off going to the Xfinity series b/c he wasn't good enough for Cup.

That take hasn't aged well.

You turned into the bitch of this board real quick. And I didn't say he wasn't good enough for cup I said it's time to give someone else a chance. I don't get giddy over someone winning their first non-restrictor plate race in 14 years of Cup racing. Congrats I guess, your boy is still well behind Matty D in total points despite being on a better team and having 7 years more experience.

Hell, Josh Berry could step in right now and do better than Almirola has done.

Oh and none of your takes have aged well since that seems to be your line of choice

Get some more ammo the next time you come at me

Someone's salty.

And my boy drives the #9, baw.

I just think people, yourself included, were ready to dump dirt on Almirola's Cup Career. There have been a lot worse drivers to win a race or two. (Derrick Cope or Lake Speed ring a bell?) Could he have been more consistent? Absolutely. That isn't up for debate. But when he needed to step up and win, my God if he didn't go out there and do it. And at a hard track to win at to boot.
