Even though Chy-na ruined one of the best holidays all year, it won't keep us from celebrating all things baseball. Present whatever baseball topic you'd like to discuss.
What's your personal favorite baseball moment?
The Astros winning the World Series is too obvious a choice so I'll go a different route. Chris Burke's 18th inning walk off against the Braves in the 2005 NLDS. Sorry Barve fans. What a game that was. Astros were down 6-1 in the 8th inning when Lance Berkman hit a grand slam to pull it to 6-5. Brad Ausmus of all unlikely heroes, hits a 2 out game tying homer in the 9th to send it to extras...and then we played an extra game.
I spent my whole afternoon watching and heard the ending sitting around my buddies truck in the church parking lot. Milo Hamilton's call is still fresh in my mind... "swinging, lining it to left. IIIIIITS GONE! ITS GONE! ITS GONE! Chris Burke. Holy Toledo, what a way to finish."
The floor is yours baseball fans.

Don Mattingly first playoff hit. My favorite growing up and it was the first time he experienced the playoffs

How dear to my heart was the old-fashioned batter
Who scattered line drives from the spring to the fall
He did not resemble the up-to-date batter
Who swings from the heels and misses the ball
The up-to-date batter I'm not very strong for
He shatters the ozone with all of his might
And that is the reason I hanker and long for
Those who doubled to left and tripled to right
The old-fashioned batter
The eagle-eyed batter
The thinking man's batter
Who tripled to right
Who scattered line drives from the spring to the fall
He did not resemble the up-to-date batter
Who swings from the heels and misses the ball
The up-to-date batter I'm not very strong for
He shatters the ozone with all of his might

Two Gibby homers. The clincher in '84.
And we all know about the other one.

No one from the Astros has covid 19 because they saw signs that it was coming

i teared up when the dodgers beat the cubs. kinda embarrassed to admit but it is what it is. i remember back in 2011, 18 year old me was sitting in a 2/3rd empty dodger stadium while we stumbled and bumbled to an 80 win season built on the play of two superstars and nothing else with no legitimate high end prospects in sight while ownership was in the middle of being sued, by MLB, for bankrupting the team. i legit sat there and wondered if i would ever see the dodgers play in the world series
that was a lot to get over when it finally happened. so yea, when charlie culberson caught that little line drive to end game 5 or when vin scully came out for game 2 would probably be my answer

i honestly dont think even winning it would top that moment for me. thats probably why im not as upset over the bullshite surrounding that year as others are. just getting there was enough

The White Sox are already the first team to win a world series in Texas.

Yeah I agree, doing that is lame.

That's an Ole Miss move, there.

1977 NLCS game 3....Dodgers down 5-3 to Phills in bottom of the 9th and score 3 runs highlighted by 42 year old Manny Mota's pinch hit double.

Wasn't Vic Davillio (sp) on that team?
