Which is such a shame for a team that dominated attendance in the 90's setting records. I just don't understand how the city quit showing up for games, ownership or not when they've made moves every year.

Jim Thome didn't get resigned and LeBron moved in next door.

2003 has no bearing on 2015 to today

Per source, the Rangers get $500K from the Indians in the trade. So Cleveland picks up half of Kluber’s $1M assignment bonus.

That makes more sense that it is only $500k coming back from Cleveland

More teams should have been in on that especially if those are the terms of his deal.

Yup, surprised the Twins or Phillies were not in it unless he wanted to stay West Coast

#Diamondbacks also now in better position to trade Robbie Ray before his walk year. With Kluber/MadBum off board there remains plenty of SP hungry teams such as #Twins #Angels #WhiteSox #BlueJays, to name a few.

I'm sure the fact he loves to hit had something to do with him staying in the NL. I'm curious if he turned down more money from an AL team. The Diamondbacks got themselves a good bargain especially with the deferred money.

If bet he did, he got his 100 million with the interest from deferrals but could he have gotten more with an AL team.

I do agree with this on the whole. The economic situation within the city has drastically changed over the last 25 years. The population decline has hit as hard as it has in Detroit. With that said, the Tigers don’t have these issues.

Yeah I believe Detroit has had a higher attendance than Clevland over the same span and they've sucked

The deferred money is part of the 85 from what I read. Also I’m pretty sure the deferred money in these contracts don’t have interest

Strasbourg deal Included interest along with others, I assume that is going to be part of any contract with deferrals moving forward
