Cubs/Cards..doesn’t matter who wins the gimp midget fight. They’re both fodder for the Braves or Dodgers. I love my Cards but I knew it was over with no real deadline moves. Hell, they won’t even call up they’re best and hottest hitter in Memphis when it’s obvious they need leadoff help.

You're right, but I'll settle for them winning the NL Central and finishing ahead of the Cubs.

In their 2-0 loss to the Cubs today, the Pirates had six plate appearances with the bases loaded.

Only one other team in the last 45 years has had 6+ bases-loaded PAs in a shutout loss: the Mets on April 26, 1980 (also 6).

I started feeling bad for the Pirates when they lost all those games to the Cards the past couple of weeks. They can lose games in all sorts of varied and frustrating ways.

I love 2nd half Goldy. And Flaherty being out of this world good.

Gallegos with quick work, can't thank the Yankees enough.

Don’t forget to thank the Braves for Gant too. 8-0, 2.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP. Thanks Braves!

LOL @ shildt

He was asked why he is batting Wong, guy hitting .380 since break, about hitting him so low in order.

Shildt claimed he wanted to lengthen the lineup.

This shildt head is out of his league. He's as bad as MM.

It's stupid

Luckily for Mo, the Central is terrible.

Why is it stupid when it is common?

The teams best OBP players aren't at the bottom of a teams lineups. No one does that, and don't give me any of your typical horse shite. Good teams dont hit their best OBP at bottom.

Big difference between struggling for years and batting down there getting hot than what you are eluding to there by best hitter/obp.

Wong is fine where he is at.

Cards take game one 3-0 over the Brewers.

This pen is so good, it's so nice to have a lead in the 5th or 6th and you feel so damn good about it with the lockdown pen.
