If he’s allowed to ride I wonder how hostile the environment on the roads will be for him? Not just the fans but some of the other rider. I know most don’t want him there because if he comes good, he’ll be hard to beat. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

yup...can't wait
Froome has been doping the entire time and everyone knows. If he gets to keep a single tour title Armstrong should get all SEVEN of his back

I tend to agree with you...the era was rife with doping and many admitted dopers kept their titles. The reason a lot of people who follow the sport really dislike Armstrong is his bullying to protect his actions. Not to mention that it appears that he got protection from Verbruggen to help grow the sport and call out others for prosecution...namely Mayo. Mayo felt the sport was so tilted, he quit in his prime and decided to drive a truck for a living. Anywho...It happened on the road and should be acknowledged in the record book. Hoping for a entertaining tour.

I understand the reason why some people still dont like him..
Iban Mayo leavig the sport didnt have anything to do with Armstrong though. It wasn’t a secret Armstrong didnt care for Mayo but Mayo failed those EPO tests on his own. That’s likely more the reason he drives a truck now

I’m not making a big play for Mayo, but it was obvious that Armstrong was threatened by Mayo and put the UCI and their power against him. He had that much power at the time! Believe what you will...
TBH, I would rather take about this tour.

How the hell was it obvious Armstrong had anything to do with that? All the riders were being tested heavily then and he failed a test for EPO.
Like I said, I understand why some people still dont like him but to insinuate Armstrong had anything to do with Mayo failing a test is silly
Do you also think Armstrong had something to do with Pantani’s troubles as well? They weren’t exactly friends so I guess so...

I was always a fan of Armstrong and still have a certain affection for the guy, but until you research his history with Verbruggen and the UCI you will never understand how deep the corruption surrounding Armstrong was and how he skated as others got labeled as cheats to protect the UCI’s zeal to win over the American market. Armstrong admitted to the same crime as Mayo. Wonder how one got the gas and the other got nothing at the time?

I know what “history” your talking about with Verbruggen...
Verbruggen denied it to the day he died
Regardless... pulling for Porte this year

This we have in common! Anyone but Froome works for me.

I never doubted Froome would be cleared either, too much money at stake. The same reason the NCAA cleared Cam Newton, the NFL burned the skygate tapes, the Olympics let the Russians compete in 2012 and the World cup is in fricking Russia. Sports are totally corrupt world wide. I won't be watching.

Well, looks like the ASO case to keep Froome out of the Tour this year is moot at this point. UCI sucker punch them it appears. There was always a rift between them and that just widened...

I know... I’ll still watch but will lose interest if it looks like a forgone conclusion

You're probably right. This is some pub leading into the event for sure.

Man, I love cycling, but its such a joke.

Hoping the 8 man teams level the playing field a little

Bernal, Thomas, Poels, Kwiato, and Froome is just an absurd lineup. UK Postal are unbeatable. They will just ride tempo at the front for three weeks. Only hope is something happening on the cobbles or the short stage. Movistar needs a pecking order quick. I actually think Bernal might be the strongest rider right now

Agreed... that could be a disaster if they dont manage it right
