bring back the combination classification and it's horrendously great jersey

Does Liggett really not understand why they boo Froome?

I'm sure he does
I'm sure it's also like the controversy about Mayweather's boxing tactics
purists love it b/c they understand what's going on
regular Joe Blow and casual fans (and those who want to see the sport grow & expand) hate it b/c it makes the sport seem super boring

He’s made a point to mention it 3x a stage
Sherwood has officially gone senile
“Race radio has him down 25 seconds but they’re wrong. I started my time when Quintana passed the marker and it’s actually 24-25 seconds”

Liggett's a purist... he probably thinks every cycling fan should bow at Froome & Team UK Postal's feet

Who got the red number today?

USA (in the form of Greg LeMond) won that jersey twice in Paris

Then he should hate Froome as he stabbed Wiggins in the back.

Wiki says Tanel Kangert did

We haven’t seen Basque flags have we?

Sure that isn’t an Once Jersey
here's Bernard Hinault (in the combination jersey) leading his teammate Gerg LeMond (in yellow)
LeMond & Hinault had a team leader battle like we're seeing between Froome & Thomas
ETA: I take that back... I should do more research... that's LeMond in yellow & Hinault in the combination jersey
Hinault apparently lived up to his word and rode for LeMond... and the American won the 1986 Tour de France by 3:10 over his teammate

No it wasn’t like this at all actually. It was more venomous and hate filled

1986 was a great TdF for the USA
Greg LeMond rode into Paris in yellow as the overall winner
he also officially won the combination classification even though he and Bernard Hinault were tied in points in that competition
LeMond's Le Vie Claire team won the team classification
Andrew Hampsten also brought the young rider classification's white jersey to America too that year

Phil is a Sky nutsucker, he never talks about the shite Sky is involved with... jiffy bag, and his beloved Chris Froome claims he has asthma, and is sucking on an inhaler with steroids. But no one can test Froome, to see if he actually has asthma, because every time they try, Brailsford and Froome threaten to sue the shite out of the UCI.
Now the former Sky team doctor is going around telling anyone who will listen, that Team Sky are frauds.
Sky is another US Postal

this story may be total BS, but I remember reading somewhere that fignon's pony tail created enough drag to lose the seconds he needed to beat lemond.

it was more LeMond's aerodynamic (and at the time... controversial) handlebars that actually won him that time trial
quote:
A November 1989 Bicycling Magazine article, supported by wind-tunnel data, estimated that LeMond may have gained one minute on Fignon through the use of the new aerobars.
Wiki link - but there's a cited source at the bottom to corroborate this statement
