So with no serious contenders to force the issue how exactly is Froome going to take the Yellow?

That last segment was commercial free, pretty cool.

Great stage. GT is the real deal.

Personally I think he is done. Unless they pull a Hinault/Lemond clusterfrick and make GT stand down so Froome can get his 5th

Yeah sky will be in control, the possibilities for him to take yellow are starting to dwindle. And GT is a good time trialist too.

But he was clearly riding for Froome today, so we know what their plan is. The whole thing is gonna be weird

Hopefully your dvr caught it, I'd watch the last 45 minutes or so.
Or NBC Sports app usually has a nice 15 minutes or so recap

Yes!
Quite possibly THE best L'alpe Duez finish I've ever seen. Ever. Been watching for over 30 years.

Haven’t watched the stage yet but got the alert that Nabali is out with a fractured vertebra.

Watching this it’s incredible how stupid these fans are. There will be railings soon I bet.

I’m all for a good time but this is dangerous enough without drunk Eurotrash making it worse

One stage these riders will refuse to race like they did few years ago

Damn UAE UCI needs to do some civil relief for Nibolli b

Liggett’s whining makes me hate Froome worse now.

my big question at the end of today's stage

is there literally no one left to challenge Sagan in green?

seems like every other sprinter who could've tried to take the green jersey off of Sagan couldn't get over the Alps either yesterday or today

as long as Sagan doesn't crash/get time limited out on 1 of the Pyrenees stages (a week from today maybe?)... he can coast to the podium in Paris again

Yep. Nibali out with broken vertebra. Crash involved police motorbikes. The riders had this to say at Velonews

Bardet was up the road after his attack, there were motos there, and they were squeezing in on the road, there was not space,” Nibali explained.

“There were two police motorbikes, I was following Froome, I was feeling good, then it slowed and I fell down.”

“The blow gave me big pain in my back, it blocked it.”

Stage winner Geraint Thomas (Sky) was right behind when the crash happened.

“I was actually on his wheel,” said Thomas. “I didn’t see if he hit a motorbike or a spectator but I rode over his back wheel. I unclipped and managed to stay upright.

“Obviously it’s not good to see, it’s not good for the race and for sure he should have been there to fight for the win as well. It’s a big downer on the day as well.”
