I'm a fan of that. I like the idea of the yellow jersey having the chance of changing hands day to day. Dennis' gap is large enough to hold the jersey through stage 3. Cancellara or Sagan will have a chance to take it on stage 4.

True, but it would be a shame to see someone win or lose the Tour on a few bonus seconds, I like the idea of the true lowest time determining the winner.

As for Dennis, don't be surprised to see Fabian try something if the wind picks up tomorrow. Huge day for BMC to try and keep both TVG and Dennis safe in the crosswinds, and they may have to sacrifice yellow for Tejay's chances.

Bonus seconds on these flat stages shouldn't affect the GC guys. It won't be like the Criterium where it determines the race on mountain finish time bonuses.

The crosswinds have caught some people out in the past. Valverde lost 5 minutes on a stage like this a couple of years ago and Quintana had to fall back and help him. Quintana could have won the overall had it not been for that stage early on.

Maybe not in the first week, but GC guys will definitely be all over bonus seconds in the mountains. With the focus on the tiniest details in the sport that we see all the time, what makes you think GC riders will just pass on a potential 10 second bonus???

I may be mistaken, but I thought I read on the official Le Tour site that the bonuses are just being awarded through stage 9. Meaning no high mountain stages carry the bonuses. Is that accurate?

I just looked again. Stages 2 through 8 are the only stages that carry the time bonuses for the top 3 finishers.

Going to be interesting to see the GC guys get in good position with sprinters trying to setup a win.

Impressive stage today. The wind can do some great damage and almost every favorite got caught out in that. Big ride for Sky, Tinkoff, and BMC. Very nice solo effort by Cancellara. This stage and stage 4 are the big concerns for week 1 for most riders and this stage lived up to the danger.

Don't love Greipel as the winner, but fantastic stage...Cancellara, Froome, TVG, and Contador all big winners today

Anybody think Spartacus holds yellow on the Mur? Sagan is at 33 seconds, Contador at 1:00...Should be able to keep it I'd say

I'm rooting for ABC for yellow and green. Anyone But Contadope for yellow and Anyone But Cavendish (huge douche) for green.

I'd also love to see Pinot start wearing a black colored kit and bike and start calling himself "Pinot noir"

Yes, it's short enough that it should actually be the type of climb he should do well on. Interestingly, I don't think Cancellara has ever raced Fleche Wallone. Should be a Kwitkowski, Valverde, Rodriguez stage.

FC has won the Tour of Flanders (which use to included the Huy) several times. He knows this climb well but tomorrow is a different day. Should be a great finish tomorrow.

Love some cobbled carnage! These next two stages are like PR and Flanders thrown into the middle of the tour. Like seeing riders have to show their whole skill set.

He said in his post-race interview he has never raced the climb. It is certainly a leg breaker but he should have the power to hang on, after all the serious climb only lasts 300 meters or so.

I was mistaken about the Muy and FC. It's all paved and no cobbles. The muur-kapelmuur was the climb I was thinking of and got me confused. Both very short and steep ...my bad. Still can't wait!

My nationality dictates I root for Cav but Tony Martin must have been going ballistic back in the bus about him letting Cancellara get third...I can't think of anyone who deserves a day in yellow more than he

Tony gave his all to the break today but I don't get the other 3 or 4 of Cav's team in that split. Cav had no train and had to leave way to early. More to your point about TM and the jersey...one would hope Cav would have realized the big picture and maybe he just had nothing left? Panzerwagon in yellow would have been sweet. The guy is a machine. Damn good stage today with the wind ripping everything apart.
