Both were defending national champs....Ohio State's one loss that year was game losing FG to 11-1 Michigan State and eventual Big Ten Champ....Alabama's only loss that year was to 10-2 Auburn by 12 who lost SEC champ

Is it eye test or not for the Committee

What would you like us to do about it?

I think Bama winning the national championship in 2017 proves the point

Also, it didn't help Ohio State put up a goose egg against clemson the year before.

Every year is not comparable because you get in for a particular year RELATIVE TO THE OTHER CONTENDERS

You can't compare a 2015 team to a 2017 team in terms of "who was worthy"

You can only compare 2015 to 2015, and 2017 to 2017, etc.

What teams were each OSU and Alabama competing with to get into the 4 spot?

He's talking about OSU in 2015 who was defending national champion.

I guess he is saying the B1G should have had 2 teams in in 2015? Maybe instead of OU?

The committee has changed it's rules year over year, somewhat due to new circumstances and somewhat due to new people being on it every year. Frank Beamer may not think the same as Long from Arkansas did 3 years ago.

They were?

Wisconsin was 12-1 with its only loss being the conference champ game, a game 11-1 Bama did not play in......

YEah this is a terrible example. Bama got in last year because OSU had two losses, one of which was an absolute arse raping by Iowa

Wisky

12 wins, with only one loss to #5 in the extra conference champ game

best win #21

Alabama

11 wins, only loss to # 7 team. didnt play extra game

best win #17

definition of ex post facto

Just like you can't look at Michigan State getting drubbed by Bama and say "well it's obvious the committee got it wrong putting them in"

I will never say the committee got it right with OSU in 2014 because they won. They got it right because OSU had better wins and more of them (which is kind of how I feel about OSU/OU this year, but it's close)

Thanks for posting why the eye test is necessary when selecting the 4 best teams. It spared everyone having to watch Wisconsin lose to Clemson by 2 TDs in the opening round of the playoffs last year.

Then you agree that the Gumps probably have to win to get in this weekend?

Also, UCF should've been #4 last year, not Bama or Ohio State.
